Unless you’ve been living in a cave, or you’re young like some of my colleagues who only go to the gram (i.e. Instagram and Telegram), you would have seen at least one Nas Daily video, or a few hundreds of his video.
Hosted by Nuseir Yassin, the likeable travel vblogger, or you can call him a Facebooker, has been in Singaporeans’ radar since he came to Singapore to make a few videos, with one that even featured our PM.
In addition, he has appeared in mainstream media like Channel NewsAsia…
…and now, he’s even appeared in new media, letting himself be interviewed by Mothership.SG:
But what has it got to do with his political dream and his consideration for PR?
Well, it’s due to his latest video in his Facebook Page and his interview with Mothership.SG.
Let’s just say that this guy really loves Singapore.
Wants to be a Politician in 10 Years
You’ve got to call a spade a spade, and let’s start with Goody Feed first. Goody Feed is clickbaity, trashy, lousy angmo, bad for society and should have been burned down.
Okay, done, so next is Nas Daily: in his latest video, it’s a tad…clickbaity.
I mean, look at this intro:
Pray tell me, who won’t want to watch it? After all, he’s going to quit vlogging soon, and while some people know that he’s going to focus on building a company, he might just become a politician instead.
I was intrigued and of course had to watch the video in its entirety.
Oh. He’s shouting about “bad politicians” and wants to make a difference by joining politics…in ten years’ time.
And of course, he attributed his decision to Singapore’s good politics, and several other countries’ good politics as well lah.
But ten years is a long time from now. Aliens might have landed in Yishun and The Rock might be the President of the United States.
However, if you’d have noticed, Nuseir Yassin isn’t someone who likes to just “say-say”: when he says something, he’ll do it.
So for all you know, we might be seeing his one-minute speeches on television ten years, debating for cats’ rights.
He mentioned that it doesn’t matter whether he’s involved in the US politics or the Israel politics, though it’s interesting to note that he specifically mentioned these two countries.
But wait, the headline reads “Nas Daily Has Considered S’pore PR”: how does that come into this article?
It’s due to his latest interview with Mothership.SG
Out of all the Nas Daily videos I’ve watched, this one could well be the best-est Nas Daily video, though it’s by Mothership.SG lah.
So basically, the Mothership.SG team got Yassin to answer certain questions, and one of which is this:
“Will you apply for Singaporean citizenship or PR?”
And his trademark honest (and loud, of course) manner, he said matter-of-factly: “No. It was never a thing to get a Singaporean citizenship. PR? Maybe. The choice was between San Francisco and Singapore. But for now I’m living in San Francisco.”
Cool.
But what’s even cooler is how much he made in the past year. He, once again, honestly said that it could be about half a million dollars.
Wah, really cool. I also want to make one-minute videos, travelling from Jurong to Tampines.
