Anyone remembers Nas Daily?

You know, the kid who’s not a kid shouting into the camera about all the good things in the world, as if we’re living in Utopia?

The guy who posted a video daily and somehow making us feel ashamed that we’re not working as hard as him?

The guy who, erm, appeared in an NTUC Income ad?

The Facebook-er ended his 1000-day journey on 5 January 2019 with a video that…for the lack of a better description, doesn’t have the 大结局 (season finale) punch we’re used to in Channel 8 dramas.

I mean, I was expecting a video of him on Mars on his last day, or maybe him exposing that he’s a robot made by Mark Zuckerberg (who’s another robot).

But no, his last day was just him talking to the camera, telling his beloved audience that it was over.

If you missed his shouting or his inspirational (or humblebragging, depending on whether you’re a fan or a hater) videos, here’s an update for you.

Nas Daily has a new video, and it’s now Nas Weekly.

Nas Daily Latest Video

Last Friday, as everyone was watching a video about a GO-JEK driver kidnapping a lady just to send her to a police station, Nas Daily posted a video.

The video talks about his journey, and it’s a self-congratulatory self-praise video set to inspire other people to do what he has achieved as a village boy. In other words, you can achieve your goals if you work hard enough.

(Kind of like those property agent / insurance agent / MLM agent friends you’ve on Facebook, but anyways)

In it, of course, he included a frame of Singapore…

…and his jalan jalan with our PM.

Weekly Vlog Now

He’s looking to upload a longer video every Friday (3 to 5 minutes), and would keep to a period of 100 weeks (that’s almost two years: I wonder if Facebook still exists by then).

Not sure what theme he can still think of, but here’s something you probably didn’t know about.

People can now include ads in Facebook videos, but one of the requirements is that the video must be at least three minutes long. In his previous videos, his one-minute videos weren’t eligible for ads, but his longer videos were, which he included in some of them.

In this new video, it seems like he didn’t include any ads.

Now, what you think about his new direction depends whether you’re a fan or a hater.

If you’re a fan, you should be glad that he’s finally able to earn money from his videos, because content creation takes resources.

If you’re a hater, you’ll see his comeback as a mean to earn money.

Nevertheless, if you’re impartial like me, you’ll just hope to see some good videos. Because we’re all sick and tired of pointless TikTok videos in our Facebook newsfeed, no?
