Two months ago, 29-year-old Vietnamese model Ngoc Trinh turned up to the 72nd Cannes Film Festival in a bareback dress that left little to the imagination.
While the outfit might’ve been a real stunner in nature, it landed her in trouble. A whole load of trouble.

According to Vietnam’s Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the revealing dress has caused “public outrage” across the country.
“She is not an artist that the ministry sent to the event. Her outfit was improper, offensive and has caused public outrage,” Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien told legislators in Hanoi, according to Vietnam Express.
In fact, she could even face a hefty fine for her choice of attire. That’s how bad it was.
Suffice it to say; I doubt anyone’s gonna try to replicate the feat anytime soon. Publicity might be granted, but the question begets;
At what cost, exactly?
The Flirtatious Nature of Skimpy Attires
Just two months later, it seems that history has repeated itself. And this time around…It’s in Korea.
On Sunday (21 July), South Korean singer Hyuna performed at a music festival in Seoul.
But rather than being in a frenzy over the ex Wondergirls member’s dance moves and vocals, Netizens couldn’t help but focus on another core aspect instead:

Her choice of outfit.
Garbed in a pink bra top and shorts, Hyuna reportedly behaved provocatively on stage during the performance, an act that has led some netizens to describe her as “cheap”.
“Aren’t her shorts too short?” one Netizen posted.
Slammed
Many slammed the singer as an attention-seeker who did not care about the kids in the audience, what with her skimpy clothing and suggestive moves.
In fact, some Netizens were so offended that they voiced out a controversial thought:

Should Hyuna have been arrested for it?
Over on Instagram, however, Netizens proved supportive of the singer.
Which has led us to wonder whether it’s really the skimpy attire that attracted so much ire, or the provocative attitude she displayed on stage?

No matter which it is, however, one thing’s for sure;
She might not be so keen on doing it again. Even if it’s for publicity.
New-Na
According to Netizens, Hyuna’s choice of attire might have been an advised move on the part of her agency P-Nation, which is owned by Psy.
No allegations, however, were confirmed.
Hyuna has also been accused of inflating her lips via surgery to enhance her looks, though she has since stepped out to deny the speculation.
But enough of her
I wanna hear about your thoughts.

Is Hyuna truly in the wrong here, or was she simply… misinterpreted?
