When you think FairPrice, you’re probably envisioning something like this
Or this
Or this
Definitely filled with everything a person would need to survive in Singapore, but when it comes to design, well, let’s just say that FairPrice was built for utility over design.
Until now, that is.
FairPrice VivoCity
Ever since Giant Hypermart left VivoCity five months ago, the mall has been left without a supermarket for five months.
Until finally, on 16 July, FairPrice Xtra VivoCity opened its doors to the public. And oh boy, FairPrice VivoCity could probably be the Aladdin of FairPrice in Singapore.
It’s a Whole New World
Other than the usual groceries you’ll find at other FairPrice outlets, this store comes equipped with a section that’ll fulfil all your travel needs.
A bicycle workshop to get you ready for an adventure on the road. But ride safe lah, eh?
Even a mini-indoor farm filled with edible greens.
And a canteen that serves pasta, finger food, sandwiches and more.
An IG-worthy ice cream van in pink.
That’s Muji-level, guys.
While there a few FairPrice Xtra outlets around Singapore, this is the first one with a dine-in canteen and an indoor garden.
Not to mention that most FairPrice Xtra outlets are designed like warehouses, while this, well, the pictures speak for themselves, don’t they?
So What Are You Waiting For?
Normally, I’d say that anyone who tells me to travel all the way to VivoCity from the ends of Singapore for a supermarket is crazy.
But this particular outlet might just warrant a visit from you.
Since it’s only been one day since the opening of this store, you can expect mascots
Beautiful floral arrangement and opening special deals
