Talk about wrong timing.
Jonathan Theriot was sitting in the labor room while waiting for his wife’s C-section to begin when a Pidgey popped up on his wife.
“As soon as it popped up, I was like, oh my gosh, there’s a Pidgey sitting on your bed!” he said. “So, I screenshotted it, then caught it and showed it to her.”
Some commenters criticized Theriot for playing the stupid game while his wife was about to deliver, but the wife commented that there were no hard feelings involved. She simply laughed it off as soon as she realized what he was doing.

And of course, the Internet had to give their two cents worth on the issue.
Pokemon Go fans were more supportive of Theriot, some even suggesting that they should name their baby after the Pokemon.
And, as usual, there were others who weren’t as pleased.
Well, at least the newborn is healthy and the couple is happy!

In case you were wondering, no, they did not name their daughter after Pidgey. The beautiful baby girl was named Ireland Sage Theriot instead.
