From Early 2019, NSMen To Get IPPT Money Immediately Via PayNow

According to Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen, “So as you run your 2.4km (one of the components of IPPT) and cross the finishing line, you can hear the ‘chink’ (sound of money).”

(That is, if not you’re the type who run one round and give up lah, clocking a grand total of 59:59 for your run.)

Of course, he admitted that statement was a gross exaggeration but the idea remains the same.

Instead of waiting two weeks for your IPPT monies to come into your bank account, you’ll be able to receive your money on the same day.

To do that, you need to register for PayNow with your preferred bank and link it to your NRIC before the test.

Once you’ve gotten a Silver, Gold or a Pass with Merit, the money will be paid to your account.

Of course, if you choose not to, you will still receive the money two weeks later, so no biggie.

But really, the idea of getting extra money immediately is probably enough to motivate people to train seriously for the best possible results.

Start Booking Your IPPT At Maju Camp

Maju camp is a popular test site for IPPT takers.

Mainly because every NSMen believed that the 2.4km test track is slightly shorter than other camps’ Fitness Conditioning Centres (FCCs).

Slightly, but when it comes to IPPT, every little bit counts.

However, do note that it’s just a rumour, but hey: 2.4km run is all about the mind. If this has a placebo effect, it can be a difference between Silver or Gold.

Now, you have one more reason to take your test at Maju FCC: the new initiative will be rolled out first at Maju FCC in early 2019.

The system will be subsequently launched at the other FCCs around Singapore by the mid of 2019.

What’s more, after the run, you can just go to SIM, which is located just beside the camp, to look at some girls and have some ayam penyet (possibly the best ayam penyet in the whole universe).

We Foresee More PayNow From The Government

In case you missed it, Singapore’s trying (and succeeding) to go the Smart Nation route.

We incubate technology startups, start needling Singaporeans about being behind China who is already going cashless and going driverless on trains and, in the future, buses.

The first PayNow initiative by the Government was pretty recent too with the distribution of the SG Bonus.

Should you link your PayNow to your NRIC, you’ll be able to receive the $100-300 SG Bonus by 30 Nov.

If not, you’ll have to wait for the money to be credited to your bank account by 10 Dec.

Just take note that even if you have PayNow, if it’s not registered to your NRIC, the government can’t pay you via the service.

Very ingenious way to convince Singaporeans to accept new technology, don’t you think?
