When they first evolved, the human species initially did everything naked, whether it was cooking, hunting, sleeping, or fighting.
But over time, we realised we didn’t have a strong desire to see our neighbours’ asses.
Just like how we all wear masks now, everyone in society wears something to hide their nakedness.
And if they don’t, they’re surely going to draw some attention.
Nude Man Wearing a Mask Seen Walking Around Buangkok Crescent
On 16 Aug, a man was seen walking around Buangkok in the nude. A video of the incident was soon uploaded online.
In the short, eight-second video, the man can be seen walking past a bus stop located near 986C Buangkok Crescent without any clothes.
The nude man suddenly stops at the bus stop and turns to his left, and that’s where the video ends.
From his side profile, it appears that the man is wearing a mask.
Man Arrested & Referred to IMH For Assessment
A 51-year-old man was later identified and arrested by the police. Speaking to Mothership, the police said that the man has since been referred to the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) for assessment.
Here’s the full statement:
“On Aug. 16, 2021 at about 5:20pm, the police were alerted to an incident where a man was reportedly walking around naked at Block 981 Buangkok Crescent. A 51-year-old man was arrested for appearing nude in a public place under Section 27A(1)(a) of the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act. Naked Man on Bike Charged in Court & Referred to IMH
A similar incident occurred back in June this year, when a man was spotted riding a bike without any clothes on.
On 10 June, motorists travelling along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) noticed that a man on a motorcycle wasn’t wearing his helmet.
And he wasn’t wearing anything else either.
Pictures of the nude biker waiting at a traffic light junction near Masjid Darul Aman in Eunos also made their way to the internet.
The man, later identified as Yeo Qi Wei, was charged under Singapore’s Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act.
He was also referred to IMH for two weeks of psychiatric observation.
For being nude in a public place, those convicted can be jailed for up to three months, fined up to S$2,000, or both.
