We all make mistakes in life, and some land us in more hot water than others.

However, people can still change from our mistakes and grow to be better from it..

Inmate With 16 More Years in Prison Gets All A’s while Doing Her O-Level in Prison

A Facebook post from Captain of Lives recently posted a pretty inspirational story.

Anna (not her real name), a 29-year-old inmate, got her hands on her O-level results recently.

And she got straight As for everything.

Needless to say, pretty darn good.

Previously arrested for drug offences, Anna is currently serving her 22-year sentence. She said that as a teen, she often went with the flow and followed her friends.

However, she does not blame them and takes responsibility for her own actions.

Wanted To Retake Exams

Last year, in the fifth year of her sentence, Anna made the choice to retake her O-Level exams.

She mentioned in an interview that she wanted to put her all into it and not to take it lightly.

So for an entire year, she pushed herself and studied extremely hard, saying that opportunities like these were not easy to come by.

And well, you saw the results above for yourself.

Anna also gives credit to her math and form teacher, who helped her along the way of her studies.

“She treated me like an adult student. She pushed me and encouraged me every step of the way.”

The mother of one also states that she looks forward to that day of release, taking a train from the Eastside back to Jurong to watch people.

Many wished her a hearty congrats, telling her that they were happy she could achieve this despite her situation.

Some even hoped that her sentence would get reduced for good conduct.

Currently, Anna is making preparations to take her A-level exams this year, and we wish her nothing but the best.
