Salted egg with anything is really good stuff and Singapore has recently caught on the Salted Egg Fever. We have tons of salted egg flavoured food, the most recent and popular being Salted Egg Croissants. However, there was a new entry to the Salted Egg market recently, and we must say that the croissants seem to have lost.
Allow us to introduce the all new Prima Deli Salted Egg Lava Cheese Tart! Yes, Salted Egg plus Lava Cheese seems to be sounding too good to be true but be reassured that this is the real stuff.
Prima Deli has released this tart in advance of the new entrant BAKE Cheese Tart. The Salted Egg Lava Cheese Tart is sold at $2.80 per piece. But if you want to check this out, do so before 30 April because they are selling it at $2.40 during this period.
This tart is really a game changer in the tart industry because not only does it have yummy fragrant cheese filling, there is a copious amount of salted egg sauce hidden beneath the surface. Here’s a tip: heat up the tart before eating, and when you cut it up, you’ll see the salted egg oozing out.
Prima Deli’s Salted Egg Lava Cheese Tart hits the right spot, with the taste not overly sweet and retaining the grainy texture of salted eggs together with buttery fragrance. This tart will have you going back for more every day.
We recommend that you eat the tarts right after purchase, but if you need to bring it home, do take note of the following:
The centre of the molten cheese is fragile, and you must take care to handle the tarts with care or you will be left with a cheese layer smashed into pieces of goo.
Prime Deli has recommended that you use the following settings on your oven when you heat the tarts up:
- To reheat room temperature salted egg lava cheese tarts, set the oven to 180 degree Celsius and heat the tarts up for 5-6 mins. For chilled tarts, put them in for 10-12 mins.
- If you do not have an oven at home, a toaster oven will do just find. Just remember to preheat the toaster oven for 5 mins before putting in the tarts.
Do note that you must never heat the tarts up in the microwave. If you do so, you’ll realize that the salted egg sauce is cooked and hardened, making the entire cheese tart hard.
