You know how some guys in Singapore felt that women here are too money-minded?
If you’re dirt-poor, good luck trying to find a girlfriend. On the other hand, if you’re rich, you’d probably have many to choose from.
Now, before you get angsty and start screaming about stereotyping and all, note that I’m not endorsing, nor supporting the claim. It’s a comment.
China has a huge number of men and a significantly lower number of women in the country. Given the disproportionate distribution, you’d expect the expectations of women in that country to be ridiculous.
And you’re right.
Here’s what a survey that was done in China showed about their women.
Men Must Earn 2-3X Women’s Salary to be Eligible Dating Material
According to South China Morning Post, a survey done by Chinese dating website Zhenai found that 54% of women surveyed said men should earn 2 times more than what they’re making. And 30% preferred men who earned 3 times as much as them.
Exactly.
And that’s not all. 60% of the women surveyed also said that they’ll break up with their partner if marriage isn’t brought up after being together for three years.
Trust me, it’s still not so bad now. Wait till you finish the rest of the article.
The Other Side of the Coin
Compared to the 30% of women surveyed who felt men should earn three times as much as the woman they’re dating, only 11.62% of men felt this way.
And a whopping 52% of men surveyed felt that men and women in a relationship should have about the same pay in the relationship.
And for those new-age SPGs whose interested in getting a foreign boyfriend (who thinks they should earn three times your salary), the survey also indicated that guys from Shanghai and Beijing are likelier to dote on you like the princess that you are.
On the other hand, stay away from guys who are from Chongqing, Guangzhou and Suzhou, because they’re “arrogant” and will probably treat you like dirt.
Guys, don’t you appreciate your girlfriend or wife more now?
