Let’s face it. Singapore is anything but magical, at least for Singaporeans.
But that doesn’t stop one famous shopping strip in Singapore from trying their best to make Christmas this year as magical as possible.
And when it comes to magic, nothing’s more magical than Disney, no?
Orchard Road All Set To Dazzle At Christmas 2018
Every year, different zones in Singapore set out to impress people with their decorations. From the CNY vibe of Chinatown to Christmas Trees at the entrances of shopping malls.
This year, Orchard Road is going the Disney route.
Expect to see characters like Mickey Mouse, Cinderella, Elsa and Woody accompany you on your romantic jaunt along Orchard Road.
And if you like it large and loud, you’ll be happy to hear that this is Disney’s largest Christmas street light-up in Southeast Asia.
The road will be dressed up all the way from Tanglin Mall to Plaza Singapura from 10 Nov to 1 Jan.
There’ll be four zones: Disney Princess, Mickey Mouse and Friends, Frozen (of course, it’s Christmas!) and Toy Story.
Plenty of Instagram-worthy Shots
And if you’re wondering if you have to get your chin sharp enough to capture a selfie that shows the beautiful arches from a bottom-up shot, don’t worry.
There are beautiful designs to take selfies with.
The centrepiece of the entire show will be at the main arch of the Orchard Road-Paterson Road junction.
And two malls will be decked out with Disney characters.
Now, What’s A Good Time Without Some Good Ole’ Pasar Malam?
Nobody’s expecting you to travel all the way to Orchard Road just for some lights. That’ll be crazy, right?
I mean, do you travel all the way to VivoCity for some lanterns- oh, wait. You know what? Never mind.
But thankfully, Orchard Road has more in store for you than just lights. Beautiful lights that they are.
The European-style Christmas village which appeared in Orchard Road last year will be making a reappearance this Christmas as well.
This year, the village is back for a longer run from 15 Nov to 26 Dec and you can expect fun amusement rides, a duplex carousel and live performances to make your night.
Plus, there’ll be a craft beer bar and food stalls operated by brands like New Ubin Seafood and Two Wings.
All in all, a pretty good place to bring your other half to for a magical, romantic time.
Now you know where to go this Christmas liao.
