If someone said you might have the Wuhan virus, how would you react? If you’re like most people, you’d probably panic, but you’d certainly follow the instructions of the authorities to seek treatment and avoid infecting others.
Unless you have a flight to catch, of course. Nothing is worse than a missed flight, not even potentially infecting a whole country with a deadly virus.

As you probably know, the Wuhan coronavirus has infected more than 1,300 people and claimed 56 lives so far.

As a result, certain airports have taken measures to contain the spread of the deadly disease.
That’s why when a 2-year-old from China exhibited influenza-like symptoms at Senai International Airport, his parents were told he had to be sent for quarantine at Hospital Permai and for further examination because they suspected it could be the Wuhan virus.
But his parents refused.
Why? Because they had to catch a flight the next day.
According to World of Buzz, the parents wanted nothing more than flu medication for the child.
Despite being given a warning that failure to comply with the instructions could lead to them being detained, Â the family went against authorities and made their way to the airport anyway.
Detained
Shockingly, “we have a flight to catch” wasn’t a good enough excuse to risk infecting more people with a deadly virus.
Johor police chief Comm Datuk Mohd Kamaruddin Md Din said that the trio was detained on Saturday night (25 Jan).

“They have been sent to the hospital for quarantine and further examination as well as treatment,” he said.
Johor Health director Dr Aman Rabu said that the department is investigating the case and would send a result of the report to the Health Ministry.
Don’t take epidemic lightly
Now, many of us might think that because most of the infections are in China, there’s nothing to worry about, but that’s not true.
While there’s no use in panicking, we should ensure that we take this virus extremely seriously, especially since the fourth case in Singapore was recently confirmed.
If you have the slightest suspicion that you or someone you know has the Wuhan virus, please see a doctor immediately.
