For all the oft-associated glamour with being a flight stewardess, the job, like any other, is bound to provide its fair share of bad days.
Or really shitty days.
And I mean it literally.
Jeff Lin’s Facebook Post
This ghastly story broke when Facebook user Jeff Lin, posted a long Facebook post detailing the actions of one passenger, and the torment multiple Eva Air flight stewardess went through in attending to his sexual needs.
Here it is:
In his “very first post to be set to public”, Jeff called for attention to his post in hopes that it would generate media attention and coverage.
And by God did it.
For as of today, the news has been covered by more than a dozen (and counting) international news outlets, while his Facebook post has seen 2.2K shares and over 800 comments.
Long-haul flight from Los Angeles to Taiwan on EVA AIR
Because there are so many articles detailing in prosaic form, the man’s over-the-top and overtly sexual remarks/actions, I’m going to give it to you in 3-in-1 instant coffee, chronological and categorical point form.
Special assistance level demands/actions:
- Demanding to be sat in three adjoining economy seats owing to his large size ->Request met by Chief purser, Kuo, as there were empty seats.
- Demanded to use business class restroom as his approximate 200 KG frame couldn’t fit into the economy one -> Request met by Kuo again.
Creepy level demands/actions:
- After a couple of minutes in the toilet, the man pulled on the emergency help bell demanding that someone help lower his pants (due to alleged hand injury)-> Initially refused by Kuo.
- He then demanded Kuo to enter the toilet and threatened to relive himself on the floor if help was not rendered.
- Simultaneously, Kuo’s colleague entered with a blanket for which Kuo used to cover the man’s by-now exposed genitals.
- Man slapped Kuo’s hands away to once again expose his genitals and now demanded Kuo to remove his mega-undies so as to defecate -> Kuo obliged.
- Man then requested for cubicle door to be left open, citing possible panic attack if it was closed -> Request was acceded to.
Definitely Sexual Harassment level demands/actions
- After pooping, he demanded for flight stewardesses to be back in order to assist in wiping his ass -> Fearing that man would stay in the lavatory, Kuo’s chief attendant reluctantly agreed to do it.
- Began moaning in pleasure while the chief attendant wipes down his
sorryass - Said “Oh, mmm, Deeper, Deeper” and accused chief attendant of lousy service and requested for one more ass-wipe-> Chief attendant attended to his cleanliness thrice before man pulled up his pants/underwear and returned to his seat
By the way, lest you’re wondering…Kuo is a female.
Press Conference
According to multiples reports and in a press conference held by a visibly affected and teary Kuo, and the Taoyuan Flight Attendants’ Union who is representing her and her colleagues, Kuo is now filing for sexual harassment.
She has accused EVA Air of not doing enough to protect her.
It is reported that this problem is systemic as “flight attendants” are expected “to bend to every passengers whim” in a service-related industry.
Since then, according to Simpleflying.com, it has been revealed:
“What’s really upsetting is that it’s not the first time this has happened. According to the union, the very same man previously defecated himself in his seat and then refused to clean himself up, and another time he spit juice on his crotch and demanded the stewardess dab the area dry.
“Rather than blacklist the passenger, EVA Air are being accused of simply allowing his behavior and expecting frontline staff to deal with it. The union propose that the carrier begins banning people who behave in inappropriate ways, as well as hiring male flight attendants to fix the problem.”
So here folks, is the image of said man.
I hope he spends the rest of his life in a jail cell, wiping his own shit and pulling up his own pants.
May he then moan and groan in perpetual anguish.
In the meantime, please remember this: a flight stewardess is someone’s daughter, too. Please treat them with respect.
