Men Openly Peed on Flower Pots in front of a Building Near Farrer Park

Humans have a few innate needs: the need for food, water, and perhaps bubble tea in some Singaporeans’ cases, among other needs.

One of them is the need to relieve yourself occasionally in the toilet bowl.

When you gotta go, you gotta go – no one will blame you for that.

Yet, where you go is an issue instead, as these men will soon have to learn once again.

Men Peed On Flower Pots In Front Of Apartment

Some plants and flowers have been getting more and more unsolicited watering services nowadays, it seems.

At around 11pm on 7 July, Wednesday, two men were caught peeing on the potted plants along an alley in front of an apartment on Somme Road.

They probably didn’t know at the time, but their actions were captured in 4K by the CCTV there, leaving netizens to shame them for not having any consideration for the public.

Ms Chen, a resident living in the affected apartment, revealed a video to the media showing the severity of the incident.

It could be seen that three men and a woman alighted from a taxi that stopped outside the complex, who then began to chat happily there.

They rang the doorbell of the complex yet to no avail as no one responded, so they waited outside the entrance.

During this time, one of the men who was dressed in black walked to a corner with another man dressed in yellow.

The man dressed in black proceeded to pull down his zipper and urinate into the potted plant, looking around to see if anyone was watching him do so.

On the other hand, the man dressed in yellow seemed to be very calm while peeing.

Oh, the poor plants.

Both of them then sauntered back to their group, where they continued chatting for ten minutes, and only left when there was still no response at the door.

Ms Chen also said that they were all new faces, and she did not think they were residents of the apartment.

Plants Used To Be Healthy, But Not Anymore

It’s also not the first time that people have been caught doing so at the same alley, apparently, for it was reported to be a hotspot for drunk people looking to pee.

According to Lianhe Wanbao, many drunk people back in 2019 used to visit the alley at unholy hours of the night, peeing and puking all over without a care, causing distress to multiple residents.

What’s with people mistaking this particular alley as a public toilet?

Angered by these people, Ms Chen shared that the plants at the alley used to be very healthy, but following many people “watering” them with urine, the leaves have either turned yellow or began to wilt.

The originally clean alley has also been turned into a place that reeks of pee, and with every gust of wind follows the disgusting smell of pee even from afar, she said.

“These sorts of behaviours aren’t just selfish but also unhygienic, they think that not a soul would know, but little did they know that it was already captured by the apartment’s CCTV,” Ms Chen added.

FYI, urinating or defecating in public is an offence punishable under the Environmental Public Health Act, and could get one fined up to S$1000 for the first offence if caught.

Hopefully, the residents there won’t have to suffer any longer.
