Singapore is home to people of different ethnicities, cultures, and religions, but we all have one thing in common: our love for food.

Apart from leisure travel and queuing up for lottery tickets, eating out is Singaporeans’ favourite pastime.

That’s why residents were banging their heads against the wall during the circuit breaker, when dining out was prohibited.

Now that we’re back on the prowl for good food, Singaporeans are free to eat whatever and wherever they wish.

And if you happen to have Islamic dietary restrictions, you’ll be happy to learn that one popular Japanese restaurant franchise will now be suitable for you.

All Pepper Lunch Outlets in S’pore Are Now Halal-Certified

All Pepper Lunch Restaurants and Express outlets in Singapore are now halal-certified, according to a Facebook post by Halal Hub.

Starting from today (8 Feb), Pepper Lunch outlets all across the country will start displaying the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS) halal certificates and halal logo.

In its post, Halal Hub said its consultant team had actively worked on the project since March 2020.

The team performed product evaluations, documents trace-abilities, halal compliance reviews, and mock audits at outlets.

They also assisted in recruiting the mandatory Muslim staff requirements and conducted in-house halal training.

“HalalHub Consultants is humbled and honoured to be their Halal Consultant in this exciting Halal certification journey,” the post read.

Been Around For 15 Years

It may not seem like it, but Pepper Lunch has been operating in Singapore for 15 years.

It was founded by a trained chef, Kunio Ichinose, who aimed to provide fast and tasty steaks at reasonable prices.

Now, Pepper Lunch has more than 250 outlets across Asia.
