And I had thought my own flat was nice.
Till I came across this door ajar, giving a sneak peak of its now-viral content.
And yet even before that, a well-guarded 2925 beckons, what with its fierce mild-steel gate, providing glimpses of its rich mahogany-coloured door frame, teasing a little, promising more.
And as if by industrial magic, I’m transported into a theatre of contrast; of dancing light and fleeting shadows, pristine white ceiling juxtaposed against a floor of grey marble with rebellious streaks, held together by mishmash pillars of colourless reflective mirror, stark black wall, and wooden laminates.
If the balance was a question, this was the answer.
And if magic was the disciple and sorcery the master, this room no doubt, is where the sorcery happens.
Silken bed sheets give rise to friction-less late night activities (sleep). Grey, not black walls, capture the shadow of whatever operatic performance is put up. Light is rendered pedestrian, if not moot, for sorcery happens in the dark, and light is but the unwelcome and necessary ingredient for organizational afterthought.
And into the power room with go. A place of a great many things for many different people. Bottoms-down, entrails active, constructively productive; the latrine is a place where revolutionary business ideas are born or just a place where the mind wanders off into other magical make-believe.
The setting is right, for with every head-turn, a different wall of a distinctive make and disparate colour translates into either a spark of brilliance or provides a fantastical sylvan backdrop.
13th Design Studio
Now, if you like this flat, trust me, you aren’t alone.
Posted onto 13th Design Studio’s Facebook page on 5 March, this album of a BTO 4 Room flat, titled “L&C Apt”, has now garnered a truly astonishing 11,491 shares and 1,800 comments as at time or writing.
A quick search on the internet reveals that 13th Design Studio is a newly formed “Singapore based interior design studio founded in the year 2017, “made up of a group of designers that aspire to create designs that are timeless & lasting.”

Here’s the viral album for your browsing, should you choose too (and why not).
Though young in history, it does appear that they have delivered quite a few projects, going by the number of completed project albums they have uploaded onto Facebook.
While the numbers (shares/comments/likes) on their previous projects aren’t all that amazing, we do know that a queue is both a hallmark and guarantee of demand here in Singapore.
Which is why 13th Design Studio has, for the lack of a better word, been bombarded with requests for quotations.
Now, I’ve done a bit of scrolling. Actually more than you can imagine, and I can safely say that out of the 1,800 comments, request for quotation comprises a least 80% of them.
Many questions thus abound:
Will the owners of 13th Design Studio be multi-millionaires soon?
Will their “P” and “M” keys fall off soon?
Do the L and C in “L&C Apt” really stand for the flat’s owners name, or do they actually mean Low and Cost?
Where is the Goody Feed cat today?
The answers, I presume, lie with Smarties.

The Coca-Cola Plus Coffee has arrived in Singapore, and let’s just say that the taste is very subjective: one of us thinks it’s like coffee candy, one of us thinks it’s like carbonated dark chocolate milk and one of us think it’s like Vanilla Coke. However, none of us thinks that it’s worth a second try, simply because we’ll all rather have Coke and coffee separately.
