On Tuesday morning (20 Apr), a lorry collided with a stationary tipper truck along the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE).
According to The Straits Times, 17 migrant workers who work for Bright Asia Construction were onboard the back of the lorry. One of them was a 33-year-old man who died in the crash.
Police were informed of the accident along the PIE towards Changi Airport before the Jalan Bahar exit at 6:06am.
According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), two people were found stuck in the rear compartment of the lorry and were rescued with hydraulic equipment.
The 17 passengers in the lorry were sent to National University Hospital (NUH) and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH).
The 33-year-old man subsequently passed away due to injuries he sustained.
According to the police, two of the workers were found unconscious after the accident.
The driver of the lorry, a 36-year-old man, was subsequently arrested for careless driving resulting in death.
According to a Facebook video uploaded by SG Road Vigilante featuring the aftermath of the accident, several men were seen lying on the road, with two ambulances and a fire engine at the scene.
According to the Land Transport Authority (LTA), the accident led to traffic congestion on the expressway up until Pioneer Road North.

Cardboard Collector Uncle Hit by Bus 985
On 9 April 2021, an accident occured on Boon Keng Road, near the exit leading towards Bendemeer Road.
A cardboard collector uncle was found lying on the side of the road. His bicycle had been run over under Bus 985 and he looked to be in immense pain.
Two young men offered their assistance to the victim while another person nearby called for help.
The police and ambulance arrived at the scene and the injured man was sent to Raffles Hospital.
