Employee 1: What about building a rat-themed ride? 

Boss: Hmm, maybe…

Employee 2: Or a giant rat statue?

Boss: That could work too I gue-

Employee 3: *stands up* WHAT ABOUT TYING A FAT PIG TO A ROPE AND MAKING IT BUNGEE JUMP?

Boss: But what does that have to do with the Year of the Rat?

Employee 3: Well… uh, nothing. 

Boss: I LIKE IT.

China Theme Park In Trouble After Forcing Heavy Pig To Bungee Jump To Welcome The Rat Year

To welcome the Year of the Rat, one amusement park in Chongqing, China made a 75kg pig bungee jump 68 metres.

According to The Paper, the incident happened on 18 Jan at the Mexin Village of Wine.

Pig heard screaming

Videos of the bungee-jumping pig were uploaded online, and while it may amuse a few sociopaths, the pig was clearly distressed and could be heard screaming as it fell.

As you can see, the poor animal was attached to a green cord with its feet bound, with what looks like a blue cape draped over its back.

This second video is a little harder to watch, as you can hear the pig squealing after it was pushed off the edge.

According to Mothership, park staff were also seen dragging the pig towards the jumping point and tying harnesses around its body.

One staff member, however, said the pig had been calm when it was pushed off and brought up.

Calm? Sure. And pigs can fly- oh. Sorry, pig.

Park said it was an experiment

After the strange incident, the park started receiving numerous phone calls accusing them of animal cruelty.

At first, they denied this and said it was just an experiment.

I don’t remember pushing too many pigs off buildings in science class.

However, they later apologised, saying they accepted the criticism after being contacted by the Fuling District Tourism Bureau for Chongqing.

The park has since promised to improve the quality of its services to serve tourists better.

Tourists? What about the goddam pigs?
