Pilot Permanently Banned From Flying After Letting Chio Bu Passenger Drink Tea In Cockpit

Have you ever been in the cockpit of an aeroplane? Unless you are a pilot yourself, I’m guessing probably not and for good reason.

Passengers aren’t allowed in the aeroplane’s cockpit, for the most part. Some airlines still do let you visit the cockpit before takeoff or after landing but not during the flight itself.

Whereas some airlines like Qatar Airways have strict policies against allowing passengers to visit the cockpit at any time.

This pilot either didn’t know or didn’t care:

How far would you go to impress a pretty girl? Maybe you’d take her to a nice fancy restaurant and foot the bill.

Or maybe you’d risk your job just so that pretty girl can show off on her Weibo account.

Well, that’s what this pilot did.

A woman from China was allowed into the aeroplane cockpit halfway through the flight. If you’re wondering how it went viral and cost the pilot his job… thank social media.

The woman is a third-year student at the Guilin Tourism University who is hoping to become a flight attendant after she graduates.

The lady posted it on her Weibo account in the cockpit. Lest you’re unaware, Weibo is a popular Chinese social media site.

It made the rounds on the internet after someone who works in the aviation industry took a screenshot of the uploaded picture and outed them.

I don’t think it would’ve been so bad if it was just her in the cockpit. (Okay maybe it would be just as bad).

That said, what’s most glaring about the entire photo is that she seems to be having a full-on tea party in the cockpit. We’re talking the full, no holds barred Chinese tea set.

Her Photo’s Caption Gave The Pilot Away

So how did they suspect that it was the pilot who let her inside? It could’ve easily been any of the flight attendants.

Unfortunately, social media doesn’t afford anyone any semblance of privacy. Her photo caption was, “I am super thankful to the pilot! I am so thrilled!”

Goody la.

An investigation was launched into an incident and the photo was found to have been taken on a commercial flight from Guilin to Yangzhou at the start of the year.

Air Guilin released a statement on 4 November 2019 announcing that the pilot will be banned from flying for life and the crew members of that flight will be suspended until further notice.

Even the flight attendants weren’t spared.

They also said, “Air Guilin always attaches great importance to passengers’ safety, and we have ‘zero tolerance’ for any improper and unprofessional conduct that may jeopardise aviation safety.”

While I do feel that the rules are rather harsh, it is after all for the safety of its passengers.

Honestly, I wonder how the Chinese woman even managed to convince them to let her into the cockpit.
