It seems that despite the PMD ban on footpaths and so many accidents that have occurred, many PMD riders still continue to ride recklessly. If they have no regard for their own lives, I’m pretty sure the rest of us hope that they at least have some decency to have some regard for the lives of others.
Hopefully, this will all come to an end on 1 January 2020 where those found riding on footpaths will be fined up to $2,000 and jailed for three months.
But well, since this is still the advisory period, we have jokers like this who simply pose as hazards to the public.
PMD Rider Beats Red Light And Dashes Past Three Fast Vehicles At Pedestrian Crossing
It has been ingrained in us since young that you only cross the pedestrian crossing when the green man comes on. When the green man is flashing, it’s a sign that it will change into the red man soon and we should wait for the traffic light to turn in our favour again before trying to cross.
Of course, it doesn’t always mean that it’s safe to cross when the green man is on. We should still always check for traffic before moving because anything can happen.
Apparently, some people don’t get the memo and choose to bet with their lives.
A PMD rider was caught crossing a pedestrian crossing when it was clearly not in his favour. What’s worse was that there were three fast-moving vehicles that could have collided in him if not for all of their fast reflexes in braking to avoid him.
The dashcam footage was shared on the SG Car Brokers Facebook Group, and it seems that the incident happened somewhere in Geylang.
*VIRAL PMD RIDER THINKS HE HAS 9 LIVES. Very very lucky, please share around to let those PMD riders think again about riding like they own the roads!! You are one ****ING lucky guy! DON'T EVER RIDE LIKE THIS ELSE YOU LEFT WITH 8 LIFES….

One of the cars was a Lamborghini and as you can see from the video, he brakes hard the moment he sees the PMD rider dash out onto the road. A van to the right of the Lamborghini also brakes hard to avoid him.
The PMD rider then continues on his way past the pedestrian crossing on the other side of the road with no oncoming cars as if nothing had happened.
The driver who uploaded his dashcam footage dubbed the PMD rider as a “9 life PMD rider”, and I’m pretty sure that’s an apt name.
Thanks To Fast Reflexes Of Drivers
The PMD rider should be thankful that nothing happened to him because of the fast reflexes of the three drivers who braked hard just in time to not knock him over. The damages would have been so much higher.
Hopefully, this serves as a lesson to the PMD rider and to other riders as well to always watch out for their surroundings. They should also learn that it is dangerous to do such a thing and they should follow the Land Transport Authority’s guidelines to ride only on park connector networks and cycling paths.
Remember guys, you don’t have nine lives. So treasure your own life and don’t do things that will cost the lives of others either. Stay safe!
