Remember the case where horse medicine was ingested to purge out COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccines? We thought we heard the last of that when someone got sent to the A&E because of that.
Apparently not.
POFMA Correction Direction Issued to Truth Warrior Website for Falsehoods About Ivermectin & COVID-19 Vaccines
On a website called the “Truth Warriors”, they published many materials that are deemed to have misled readers. Some of the falsely published statements include:
- The most vaccinated countries have the most cases and deaths per million population and the least vaccinated countries have the fewest cases and deaths per million population
- Vaccines do not prevent the transmission of COVID-19
But as you know, these statements are just lies.
And if you are spitting lies online about COVID-19, the Ministry of Health (MOH) is going to debunk your lies and even POFMA you.
Let’s start with the debunking:
Vaccination Reduces COVID-19 Infections, Serious Illness and Mortality Rates for Those Who are Suffering from COVID-19 Infections
It seems that the Truth Warriors is not so truthful after all. Although they claimed that the most vaccinated countries have the most COVID-19 cases and deaths per million population, the latest data does not show that.
They also claimed that countries have the lowest vaccination rates have low reports on COVID-19 deaths. Well, that is because those countries may not have the resources to collect accurate data on vaccinations and death. Thus, that lead to poor record collection.
Vaccines Reduce the Risk of COVID-19 Transmission
Although vaccines do not totally stop COVID-19 transmission, they do reduce the risk. A person who is fully vaccinated is less likely to transmit the virus as compared to an unvaccinated individual.
The vaccines also cause the body to produce antibodies and immune cells. They will act against the virus and kill it.
Thus, it is wrong to suggest that the effect of the vaccine on the immune system does not lead to the killing of the virus.
Ivermectin
If you are unaware, Ivermectin is a medication commonly used to deworm animals like horses. So unless you have four legs and can neigh elegantly, you should not consume it.
However, it seems like these days, Ivermectin is seen as a “miracle cure” with claims that it is used to treat COVID-19 effectively.
Just to reiterate, this statement is false.
There is no scientific evidence that Ivermectin can prevent or cure COVID-19 and the Health Sciences Authority does not approve of this method.
Despite the lack of evidence, the Truth Warriors still published articles that claimed that Ivermectin is used to treat COVID-19 and the World Health Organisation is hiding information on the drug’s effectiveness.
The articles cited Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance, an alliance that’s started as a non-profit network of doctors trying to establish COVID-19 protocols in the earlier days of the pandemic.
However, these days, the alliance has come under scrutiny for its affiliation with anti-vaccine organisations.
Consumption of Ivermectin can lead to hospitalisation. Side effects include vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, dizziness, seizures, confusion, sudden drop in blood pressure, severe skin rash and liver injury.
POFMA Correction Direction
As mentioned, if you spit lies about COVID-19, you’ll be POFMA-ed. Health Minister Ong Ye Kung has instructed the POFMA Office to issue a correction order to the website.
They are required to publish this notice at the top of each webpage containing the inaccurate statements.
They have since done so:
