Thousands of mobile phone games came out over the past few years, but if we have to talk about one revolutionary game which took the world by storm, there’s only one that comes to mind.
Pokemon GO.
After all, is there any other mobile phone game that made Singaporeans turn up at Chinese Garden in droves?
Well, turns out, it’s not just the cats at Goody Feed that couldn’t forget the power of Pokemon GO.
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) remember those days too, and they’re hoping to recreate it in Singapore again.
STB Using Pokemon GO to Convince Us to Go Out More Often With SingapoRediscovers
Today (12 Nov 2020), STB announced a tie-up with Pokemon Go in a bid to encourage Singaporeans to come out more and fully utilise their $100 SingapoRediscover vouchers.
Pokemon Go players in Singapore will have 300 more locations to meet up with fellow trainers and go on raids all across Singapore, they revealed.
“As they pursue their favourite Pokemon across Singapore, we hope players will explore our precincts, discover hidden gems, and support local business – while staying safe and observing the necessary precautions.”
Where Will The Extra Locations Be At?
Seeing as it’s for local tourism, you can probably guess where the extra stops are located at, and you’re probably right.
PokeStops or gyms will be located at hotels, local attractions, retailers, F&B outlets and tour ticketing booths all across Singapore.
To be exact, here are the 10 precincts they’ll be located at:
- Changi and East Coast
- Chinatown
- Civic District
- Joo Chiat and Katong
- Kampong Glam
- Little India
- Mandai and Kranji
- Marina Bay
- Orchard Road
- Sentosa
Bringing The Best Deals To You
The best part? You don’t have to do the hard work to search out for deals yourself.
When you get to a certain location, there’ll be a SingapoRediscover banner in the Pokemon Go app.
Tap on it and it’ll bring you to the campaign website where you’ll be shown the latest SingapoRediscover packages and deals located near you.
So if you’re at Sentosa, chances are you’ll be shown the Sentosa $100 tour and relaxation packages.
Not only that, but STB is also planning special events like raids for Pokemon Go players, so be sure to keep up to date on their Instagram and Facebook pages.

Now, even if you’re not a fan of Pokemon Go, don’t worry because player or not, deals for Singaporeans hoping to utilise the $100 SingapoRediscover vouchers and get the best bang for their buck still exist.
