If you have a life and watch movies in cinemas regularly, you’d have come across 人.
No, I’m not referring to human beings, but this 人:
Not sure about you, but even after seeing so many advertisements about them, I still have no idea what they do. Are they an insurance company? Are they part of the Government to promote human beings? Are they robots looking to create human beings?
Are they the creatures in Bird Box?
Well, turn out that they’re a financial planning agency for AIA—in other words, an insurance agency lah.
Their unique ways to promote their services have definitely worked, given that it made me curious about them—more so when they’re the ones behind this Pokemon-themed café that you’re about to read now.
Because even a Pikachu needs to be covered (Ash says ones).
Qiren Organisation Meets Pokemon
As part of their…erm, something lah, Qiren Organisation has teamed up with The Pokemon Company to open not one, but two Pokemon-themed cafes in Singapore.
They’re located at Qiren’s customer centres in Tampines and Jurong, so it’s not exactly a stand-alone pop-up café but more of an area that’s been transformed into a Pokemon-themed café.
Location of Tampines Office: 9 Tampines Grande Level 2 (S)528735
Monday – Friday 9am – 6pm
Saturday and Sunday 9am – 7pm
Location of Jurong Office: Vision Exchange Level 21, 2 Venture Drive (S)608526
Daily 9am – 6pm
It’s open to both their clients and the public, and you can get a cup of coffee (not sure if it’s the Pikachu-themed one) just by downloading their app.
(See? We’re not the only 人 that is aggressively push our app, okay?)
There would also be dedicated spaces for Qiren clients to hold birthday parties for their kids with a special appearance by Pikachu.
Oh, and one more interesting fact: Qiren Organisation is founded by Lin Qiren.
Pokemon Meet & Greet
Don’t want to go to the café cuz you’re afraid of insurance agents?
No worries; our world isn’t consumed by the creatures from Bird Box yet, so Pikachu and his BFF Eevee are coming out from their safehouses and meeting you in various shopping mall.
This, according to Qiren (the company, not the founder), is “the perfect chance for you to snap photos of Pikachus and Eevees up close as they dance to the melodious music in front of you.”
And it’s not just meet-and-greet: there would be events like Insta-worthy parades, shrink art activities and carnival games, so that you can be the very best like no one ever was.
Here’s the schedule:
So if you’re a Pokemon fan, you know where to go.
