21YO Police NSF Dies from Gunshot Wound in Toilet With His Revolver Beside Him
At around 11am on Monday, 30 August, a 21-year-old full-time police national serviceman was discovered alone in a toilet at the Special Operations Command (SOC) with a gunshot wound to his head.
According to the media release by the police, he was found with his service revolver beside him.
He had reported for duty that day at around 10:30am and headed to the armoury to draw his service revolver.
It seems like the incident happened between 10:30am and 11am.
Paramedics were called to the scene and they pronounced the 21-year-old dead at around 11:20am.
Ongoing Investigations
The police have said that this is a case of unnatural death, but do not suspect any foul play.
Investigations are ongoing and are led by the Criminal Investigation Department.
The media release by the police also said, “The police extend our deepest condolences to the family of the late serviceman and are assisting the family in their time of grief.”
Another Incident Occurred A Few Days Ago
Just a few days ago on 23 August, a 47-year-old SAF regular serviceman was found hanging from a rope at the rooftop of a multi-storey carpark at Gombak Base.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at around 1:40pm by an SAF medical officer.
The police have mentioned that this was also a case of unnatural death and are currently investigating what happened.
