When you’re drunk, you do stupid things. Sometimes, it could be as mild as taking off your shirt and showing your beer belly to the world through Instagram.

And sometimes, you might just get into trouble with the law like this guy.

26-Year-Old Man Jumped Into Rochor Canal To Escape

A 26-year-old man was arrested on 29 Sep after an exciting chase from a nearby church into the waters of Rochor Canal.

According to reports, he had allegedly molested a female worshipper in Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

He even had the perfect escape plan: to jump into the canal and swim under a tunnel.

Unfortunately, his escape plan was foiled by a brave policeman who jumped into the water after him and arrested him.

As fellow police officers ran to throw a lifebuoy into the water, the man could be seen struggling with the police officer.

Gotta give kudos to the cop, though you’ve got to wonder how many of his equipment would be rendered unusable and how long he has to clean his weapon #justsaying

Man Was Allegedly Drunk

The Singapore Police Force said that they received the call at about 1.30 pm. After getting to the location, the officers obtained information about the direction the man fled in and gave chase.

They found him trying to escape via Rochor Canal and one of their officers jumped into the water to arrest him.

It was added that the man was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

“He was subsequently arrested for using abusive words against a public servant, intentional harassment and drunkenness in public places,” a spokesperson for the Singapore Police Force said.

Investigations are ongoing.

Good job, but what if you die?

When you want to praise someone but wants to show off your “smarts” at the same time.

You’re doing it to get promoted, right?

Everything also can link back to Little India. It’s like if you’ve failed your Chinese before, even if you get A1 for your O Level, you’re still bad in Chinese.

There’s a better way to do it, please.

Use your brain.

Yet if the gun fires, then you’ll see comments asking if it’s excessive force.

What’s the rest of the useless police officers doing?

The “I’m observant AF” comment.

I’m afraid nobody knows I’m witty

Yo, I’m a storyteller. Hire me, SPF. By the way, use your brain, officer.

And of course, the MVP comment:

I guess what they said is right. You can’t please everybody, huh?

But on our side?

Policeman, you’re the hero we need but don’t deserve.

And happy weapon cleaning #sorrycannotresist
