This may be hard for you and me to wrap our heads around, but some people simply don’t care about animal welfare, even if it’s animals under their care.
We see so many cases of animal abuse in the news and wonder how these abusers could be so cruel, but it keeps happening because many people are willing to put their animals through pain and suffering if it makes their lives a little easier.
Poor Doggo Left Caged Under The Hot Sun
Take this dog who was found outside an industrial estate in Singapore, for instance.
Volunteers from Chained Dog Awareness in Singapore (CDAS) were passing through an industrial estate in Singapore when they stumbled upon a cage that was covered with some canvas and a mattress.
And what they found inside broke their hearts.
It was a little dog that was locked inside the cage and left under the scorching sun by its owner.
The organisation later shared photos of their awful discovery on Facebook.
According to CDAS, the basin is half the size of the cage which means that the dog can’t even “lie down properly.”
Risk of heat stroke
Moreover, the dog could get a heat stroke from being under the sun for a prolonged period of time.
According to PetMD, any hot environment can cause heatstroke in dogs.
Can you imagine being out in the sun for hours or even days with only canvas and a mattress to protect you from the Sun’s searing rays?
Only had food scraps to eat
What’s even worse is that the dog had nothing to eat except some scattered bits of rice by the edges of the cage.
We don’t know how much rice was there at the start, or how often this cruel owner feeds the poor dog, but it certainly doesn’t look like it’s enough.
There also appears to be a basin of water inside the cage.
Need help to free dog
CDAS is urgently seeking people who can come to the estate and break the lock so they can free the abused dog.
“We really don’t care if there’s an owner or not and we do intend to report to the authority after getting the dog out”, CDAS wrote.
Those who are willing to do so and foster the dog, for the time being, can contact CDAS via private message on Facebook.
We hope that the dog will be freed before anything happens to it and that the cruel owner will be punished for their actions.
