Popular Tsui Wah Opening in S’pore on 15 June in Clarke Quay

I know what you’re thinking the moment you read the headline.

Is this yet another food fad?

Will it last for years or months?

Would Singapore ever get into the World Cup Finals?

Well, just like you, I don’t know the answers to all these questions, but I do know that Tsui Wah is coming and they’ve put in efforts to ensure that it’ll be one of the most lit restaurants in Clarke Quay.

Lest you’re one who prefers Hello Kitty Cafes instead of a traditional coffee shop, here’s some context: Tsui Wah, also known as 翠華, is a restaurant selling Hong Kong-styled comfort food.

If you’ve been to Hong Kong, you’ll know about it: it’s like the must-go restaurant there.

To have a slight idea of its food, just go to Jurong Point: there’s a “Hong Kong street” and they, too, sell a large variety of Hong Kong-style food (and no, it’s not just dim sum).

What makes it so popular? It’s mainly due to its food (and not any trendy interior): the crispy bun with condensed milk is a favourite among many.

In other words, yeah, it’s not another “OMG SO IG-WORTHY LET’S GO ONCE TAKE PICTURE AND NEVER GO BACK AGAIN” restaurant.

The Hong Kong chain will open its first Southeast Asia outlet in Singapore on 15 June 2018 (FYI it’s a Friday) at 1:00 p.m. Following that, it will open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Located in Clarke Quay, it can seat over 140 people, with signature items such as the Milk Tea, Crispy Bun with Condensed Milk and the Curry Series to be confirmed in its menu. More items will be made available soon.

This opening is a result of months of preparation: In the past months, chefs from Tsui Wah Hong Kong have been in Singapore training the local staff. Some of these chefs will also be stationed here to have a hand in food preparation and ensure the high standards of quality and freshness.

So don’t be surprised if you hear someone talking to you in Canto there!

It’s a Joint Venture Between a Tsui Wah and a Local Company

Heard of JUMBO? Well, me too. The group manages 13 F&B outlet in Singapore and 6 in China, with JUMBO Seafood being the most familiar to us all.

Tsui Wah’s venture into the Singapore market is a collaboration between Tsui Wah Holdings Limited, a listed company over in Hong Kong that manages Tsui Wah (ar bo then) and JUMBO.

Now you know where to go in June!
