Porche & Suzuki Caught on Camera Racing on CTE During Peak Hours

It’s entertaining, exciting even, to witness cars racing each other on designated roads. That thrill, that adrenaline, that mystery of who’s gonna cross the finish line first…

It’s all so damn perfect.

But here’s the thing. While official car races are very much enjoyable, unofficial car races, particularly ones that happen on public roads…

Aren’t cool. Not cool at all.

Sure, they might offer a little eye candy for all the weary drivers out there, but the fact remains that it’s a public road we’re talking about here.

It’s not a damn F1 road.

And even if they look kinda slick doing it…

Drivers like the following ones are, in the end, undoubtedly at fault.

Porche & Suzuki Caught on Camera Racing on CTE During Peak Hours

During the morning rush hour, the Central Expressway (CTE) played host to a rather peculiar incident:

A Porche and Suzuki locked in a fierce two-way battle, as they sped past numerous civilian cars on the road.

And if you’re the visual kind of person, you’ll be glad to know that it was all captured on camera too.

In a video posted on Facebook page Roads.sg yesterday (25 July), a white Porsche can be seen racing down the CTE towards Yishun.

Thereafter, a Suzuki Swift swiftly followed suit, moving along at a high speed as it trailed behind the white Porsche.

According to the time stamp from the driver’s dashcam, the race occurred at 8:05 a.m. The video was posted on Roads.sg, where it has since garnered 31,000 views.

You can watch the video down below:

Public roads are NEVER meant for racing.Public roads are shared spaces, and road safety is a shared responsibility. Racing or driving at high speeds not only endanger oneself but other road users also. This is rush hour for others going to work. These two drivers of Porsche SBA9Y and Suzuki Swift SMA1307A did not consider others but only their own ego. This happened along CTE towards Yishun on 25th July 2019 at 8.05 amVidoe submission: EK

Netizens react

As one might’ve expected, Netizens didn’t really take well to the whole Fast and Furious scene that was going on here.

And some provided rather snarky feedback of their own:

One also voiced out the ultimate question:

Though for their sakes, I genuinely hope that it’s the more f*cked up reason, instead of this one.

According to reports, a police spokesman has told The New Paper that the Traffic Police are aware of the incident.

Investigations are currently ongoing.

Should you have any information on the subject, you can submit it through the Feedback on Road Users portal online.

Not the first time

According to AsiaOnethis is hardly the first time cars have been playing Initial D on expressways.

In October last year (2018), two men driving Mitsubishi Evolution 10 sports sedans raced each other on the CTE in the early hours.

The two drivers were each jailed for two weeks, and suspended from driving for four years.

Well, I guess that’s a benchmark we can gauge from.

Good luck, Porsche driver and Suzuki driver;

May the odds… be ever in your favour.
