Seventeen children and two employees from E-Bridge Pre-School’s Circuit Road branch in MacPherson developed gastroenteritis symptoms starting 9 Sep 2025.
None of the affected individuals required hospitalisation, according to a joint statement released 14 Sep 2025 by the Communicable Diseases Agency, Early Childhood Development Agency and Singapore Food Agency.
Investigation Underway
The authorities are investigating the suspected cases of gastroenteritis reported at the pre-school. ECDA is monitoring the situation and working with the pre-school operator to ensure student and staff wellbeing.
The agency reminded the pre-school to ensure compliance with infection prevention and control guidelines. Pre-schools must adhere to food safety and hygiene requirements specified in the Early Childhood Development Centres Code of Practice.
Several affected individuals were diagnosed with viral or suspected gastroenteritis upon seeking medical attention. As of 16 Sep 2025, eight children returned to school while the rest recover at home.
E-Bridge Pre-School implemented immediate precautionary measures after the outbreak. Symptomatic children were cared for in the sick bay and sent home promptly.
The school disinfected affected classrooms and common areas using diluted bleach solution. Cleaning frequency increased across the entire centre.
A professional cleaning agency conducted thorough deep cleaning of the premises on the evening of 11 Sep 2025. The school informed all families with children enrolled at the centre, including those in non-affected classes.
Teachers continue daily check-ins with families whose children remain absent. Parents of affected children received individual contact from school staff.
