If you love the warm and dry weather in Singapore, you’ll be sad to know that your sunny days are going to come to an end.
According to the Meteorological Service of Singapore (MSS), the first half of October is going to wetter than September.

Prepare Your Umbrella ‘Cuz There’s Going To Be More Rain
The last two weeks of September was hot with little rainfall. But according to the MSS, the warm weather is going to end.
Singaporeans can expect thundery showers mostly in the afternoon on six to eight days. In other words, prepare your umbrella especially if you have to go out for lunch.
Daily temperature in Singapore is expected to range between 25 and 33 degrees Celsius. And on days where there is little to no rainfall, expect the temperature to soar to 34 degrees Celsius.
So by when should you ready an umbrella in your bag?
Today.
According to a quick browse on the MSS website, it’s going to rain for the next four days.
On 3 Oct, thundery showers are expected in the afternoon, while late morning and early afternoon thundery showers are expected for the remaining three days.
The Rain’s Coming At Just The Right Time
So there you are thinking, sian, rain again. But really, it’s something that should make every Singaporean happy because it means you don’t have to switch on the aircon 24/7 to keep yourself cool.
And that’s important because the electricity tariffs have increased again, for the third time this year.
While we have a long-winded article on what that actually means for Singaporeans, here’s a TL; DR:
With effect from 1 Oct, electricity tariffs would rise by an average of 2.1%. That’ll put the electricity tariffs at 24.13 cents per kWh.
Translated into real figures, it means that your electricity bill is going to increase by about 2% or an average of $2.08.

GST U-Save Rebate Voucher
Yesterday, it was announced that 900,000 HDB households in Singapore are going to get up to $95 U-Save rebate vouchers.
For four-room flats, you’ll get $75 U-Save vouchers this month.
This means that if you split it up, you’ll be paying the “pre-tariffs increase” price for 37 months. ($75/2=37.5).
