Prepare Umbrellas Cuz S’pore Will Experience More Rain For The First 2 Weeks of Sept

Are you the type of man who thinks a manly man doesn’t need an umbrella? Or maybe, you’re always leaving your umbrella behind when you go out.

Whichever one you are, better make sure you bring an umbrella along for the next two weeks.

Because the weatherman of Singapore has spoken.

Singapore to get more rain in the next two weeks

August was a welcomed relief after the squall in July. Hot it might be, at least we don’t have to deal with wet shoes and laundry that just wouldn’t dry.

According to the Meteorological Service of Singapore (MET), the recorded rainfall for the month of August was “well-below normal”.

Unfortunately, this isn’t going to last.

According to the MSS, you can expect even more wet weather in the next two weeks. Thunderstorms will take place in the late morning and early afternoon (thank God, not during peak hours) on six to eight days.

They added that widespread thunderstorms with gusty winds could occur in the morning on at least one day.

Yup, that kind of rain that an umbrella isn’t going to be able to save you from.

But It’s Still Going To Be Warm Though

Now, for the jacket-loving people in Singapore, don’t take this as an excuse to wear your favourite jumper 24/7.

Daily temperatures are expected to range between 25 and 33 degrees Celsius for most days.

On days with little or no rain, expect temperature up to 34 degrees Celsius.

So, What Does This Mean?

Here’s a couple of tips from your friendly writers at the Goody Feed office on how to survive the seventh- sorry, wrong, the rainy days:

One, always bring an umbrella around with you. The bigger, the better. Because if the female colleague you’re crushing on didn’t bring her umbrella, you can share yours with her.

And seeing how rain is supposed to fall in the late morning and early afternoon on most days, this might be your chance to have a lunch date with her.

But remember not to leave your umbrella overnight, even if it’s outside your house. It’s the 7th month now, and this is one of the unknown taboos that you probably haven’t heard of. To know more about all the other taboos (e.g. don’t talk to yourself), watch a video we’ve done here:

Two, leave an extra pair of slippers in your office. Nothing’s worse than working in an air-con room in wet shoes and socks.

Three, put an extra pair of socks in your bag. You know what’s worse than wearing wet socks and shoes? Having to wear back socks that are still wet. Cold and slimy doesn’t even begin to describe it.

And last, but not least, plan buffer time for your appointments. If it suddenly poured like Dr Kang cried for her Cpt Yoo in DoTS, you might need a longer time to get to your destination.

And we all know that rain equals price surge for Grab. Scratch that. Make it crazy price surge.
