President’s Star Charity Returns With a Performance by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam & His Wife, Ms Jane Ittogi

If you’re excited to witness President Tharman in action, don’t miss the upcoming President’s Star Charity event hosted by Mediacorp. 

Mediacorp’s flagship fundraiser event, held under the President’s Challenge, will occur on 22 October 2023.

The President’s Star Charity for this year, themed “Respect for All,” promises to captivate audiences with various exciting performances. 

Its main mission is to extend support to many beneficiaries under the President’s Challenge and inspire the public to raise funds for vulnerable groups in Singapore.

Performers for President’s Star Charity Include Anggun, Taufik Batisah and Jonathan Charles Tay

Viewers tuning in to the show can anticipate a special performance featuring President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and his wife, Ms Jane Ittogi.

In addition, the stage will be graced by poet Stephanie Fam, who will join Tharman and Ms Jane Ittogi for a heartfelt reading of the poem Never Let Go.

The show’s lineup will feature international vocalist Anggun, who will take centre stage with performances of her original songs Snow on the Sahara and A Love Before Time.

The event will be hosted by Rishi Budhrani, alongside the returning host Diana Ser, who will co-present the live show.

Other performers at the President’s Star Charity include Singapore Idol’s Taufik Batisah and opera tenor Jonathan Charles Tay, who will take to the stage with their rendition of Elton John’s classic tune Your Song

The local Orkestra Melayu Singapura and the all-girls choir from St. Margaret’s School (Secondary) will join them on stage.

The 25-member Orkestra Melayu Singapura will accompany local singer Aisyah Aziz during her rendition of the powerful ballad Rise Up

Additionally, local fan favourite Sebastian Tan, widely recognised by his stage name Broadway Beng, will deliver a soul-stirring performance of the Hokkien track “爱拼才会赢” (Strive to Win).

Additional artists gracing the stage will include Tasha Low and the musical duo Govin & Krsna, who will unite with local rap talents Sheikh Haikel, ShiGGa Shay, OmarKENOBI, and Wheelsmith for an electrifying performance.

But that’s not all.

For all the dedicated K-Pop fans out there, get ready for a dance performance that will leave you feeling like you’re watching BLACKPINK themselves gracing the stage at the President’s Star Charity.

To maintain the high-energy atmosphere, artists such as Denise Camillia Tan, Dhivya Raveen, Endang Rahayu, and others will deliver a dance performance set to BLACKPINK’s debut hit single, Boombayah, choreographed by K-Pop dance master Ronnie Chen.

Donations Are Welcomed until 5 November 2023

Contributions to the President’s Star Charity of any amount are welcome until 5 November.

If you wish to donate, it’s as easy as scanning the QR code provided on mediacorp.sg/psc. This QR code will also be displayed on-screen during the show for your convenience.

The President’s Star Charity live broadcast will be available on meWatch, Channel 5, and Mediacorp Entertainment’s YouTube channel on Sunday, 22 October, starting at 7.30 pm and ending at 9.30 pm.
