Are you or is someone you know taking the Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE) in 2024? If so, good news to you, as FairPrice Group will be giving out 12,000 free breakfast bundles to Primary 6 students taking the PSLE this year as part of the Cheers Breakfast Club initiative.
FairPrice Group announced in a statement on 11 September that it will be distributing the bundles at 131 Cheers and FairPrice Xpress outlets islandwide starting from 2pm on 20 September to 21 September.
Hold on, let me see if I can still fit into my primary school uniform.
You wish.
Students can redeem their breakfast bundle at participating outlets by presenting their student cards or PSLE examination slips for verification, and the redemptions are limited to one bundle per student on a first come, first served basis.
Parents will have to bring their child along and ensure that they have the required documents on hand to redeem the bundle.
What’s included
In the statement, FairPrice Group stated that each bundle is worth more than $20. The bundle includes:
- Brand’s Essence of Chicken
- Marigold UHT Low Fat Milk

- Ayam Brand Tuna Flakes in Olive Oil – Omega 3
- FairPrice Less Sugar Nonya Kaya

On its website, FairPrice has highlighted, “While all items in the bundle have been carefully curated to ensure you receive the freshest products, please note that some items may be replaced with similar products if they are temporarily unavailable!”

Improving Accessibility to Daily Essentials
FairPrice Group’s group chief executive Vipul Chawla said, “We recognise the exciting shared journey that PSLE examinations represent for many Singaporean students and their parents.”
He also added that through “initiatives like the Cheers Breakfast Club, we hope to make this rite of passage a bit more enjoyable, and the daily lives of our students and parents just a little better.”
Can we make the lives of the working class a little better too?
According to FairPrice Group, the Cheers Breakfast Club is a “first-of-its-kind initiative”, and is the latest in a series of programmes this year to improve Singaporeans’ access to daily essentials, with other initiatives like absorbing the GST hike on 500 staple items, offering FairPrice Return Vouchers in conjunction with the government’s two tranches of CDC vouchers, as well as providing May Day and National Day deals for NTUC union members.
“In the coming months, FPG will continue to deliver on its social mission through a series of initiatives that will elevate Singaporeans’ understanding of nutrition and improve the way that they access it in their daily lives.”
