Let’s face it, as glorious, delicious, and magical as the food from KFC is, we know that it’s not exactly good for our bodies.
Yes, this is akin to saying PM Lee likes pink shirts and that the coronavirus is contagious; everyone knows this is true.
But while we’re all aware that fast food is unhealthy, no one expects it to tear a hole in their stomach.
As horrifying as that sounds, that could have happened to one customer if she hadn’t taken a closer look at her meal.
Netizen Found a Screw in Punggol KFC Porridge After Consuming 3/4 of It
Did you know that KFC sells porridge?
Going to KFC for porridge is like going to McDonald’s for Wanton Mee, but many customers seem to like it.
On Saturday (31 Oct 2020), Facebook user Lilli and her husband were enjoying a meal from KFC, which they ordered from Punggol Oasis’s outlet via foodpanda.
They had gone for the Twister & Porridge Buddy Meal, which comes with a breakfast burger and porridge.
According to Lili, her husband offered her a spoonful of his porridge at one point.
Typically, her eyes would be glued to the television, and she would have slurped up the porridge without looking at it.
Fortunately, she didn’t do that on Saturday.
Before eating the spoonful of porridge, Lili glanced at the food and made a shocking discovery:
There was a screw in the porridge.
Just the very thought of swallowing a screw could deter most people from eating food for the rest of their lives, especially porridge from KFC.
“SCREW YOU, KFC AND YOUR SCREW!” Lili said.
The scary thing is that Lili and her husband had consumed three-quarters of the porridge, meaning they could have very easily ingested the half-inch screw if Lili hadn’t spotted it.
While she was angry, Lili managed to retain a sense of humour over the incident.
KFC’s Response
The fast-food chain issued a response a day later, in the comments section of Lili’s post.
In case you can’t see it, here’s what KFC said:
“Hi Lili Ahmad, thank you for bringing this to our notice and our deepest apologies for your experience with us today. We take food safety and hygiene matter very seriously at KFC and have followed up with you on this. Please be assured that the team will be further investigating the incident. Thank you.”
It’s unknown if Lilli reported KFC to the authorities.
Either way, this might convince you to take a second look at your food before putting it in your mouth. If not, you might be screwed.
