Shocking Tragedy: Malaysian Singer-Actress Queenzy Cheng Dies of Brain Aneurysm at 37Â
Perhaps some of the most sudden deaths are the saddest, akin to the tragic loss of Godfrey Gao in 2019.
Similarly, the 37-year-old Malaysian Singer-Actress, Queenzy Cheng, met an untimely demise just yesterday morning on 28 Nov.
According to China Press, Queenzy was picked up by fellow singer-actor Chai Zi on the morning of 28 Nov, and they arrived on the set at 8 am to film for Squad Sekawan, a social media channel they co-founded.
Their day commenced with filming the first episode at 8:30 am after breakfast.
However, around 10:30 am, as Queenzy prepared for the second episode, she suddenly complained of dizziness, severe headaches, and a strong urge to vomit.
Chai Zi, dressed in a mummy costume that limited her mobility, called for help.
Two staff members immediately rushed to Queenzy’s aid, ensuring she had proper airflow and fanning her to alleviate her discomfort.
Despite their efforts, Queenzy soon vomited, though the contents appeared to be stomach acid or saliva rather than solid food.
Concerned for her well-being, the staff quickly called for an ambulance. At this point, Queenzy remained conscious.
They placed her on her side to ease her discomfort, and first-aiders on set closely monitored her condition.
During this time, Queenzy shared her mobile phone passcode, enabling the staff to contact her boyfriend for her medical records.
Her boyfriend responded promptly, revealing that she had always enjoyed good health, with the only known family medical history being her father’s ear fluid imbalance.
However, Queenzy’s heart rate began to increase, a troubling sign.
According to Chai Zi’s emotional account to China Press, Queenzy’s lips, hands, and feet rapidly turned purple, just moments before the ambulance arrived.
Ambulance Arrived At Once, But It Was All Too Late
Although the ambulance reached the scene in just five minutes, the paramedics’ resuscitation efforts were in vain.
Tragically, Queenzy was declared dead on the spot, at 11:50 am on that fateful day.
This entire ordeal unfolded in less than 40 minutes.
Subsequent autopsy results revealed that Queenzy had succumbed to a brain aneurysm, according to Sin Chew Daily.
A brain aneurysm, also known as a cerebral aneurysm, is a bulge in a weakened area of an artery in or around the brain.
If such an aneurysm ruptures or leaks, it can lead to brain bleeding, potentially causing damage to surrounding brain tissue.
A ruptured brain aneurysm results in death in approximately 50% of cases.
37YO Singer-Actress Wanted To Contribute To Racial Harmony
At just 37 years old, Queenzy was a talented Singer-Actress with a heartfelt desire to promote racial harmony among the diverse Malaysian communities through Squad Sekawan, a project she co-founded with Chai Zi.
On the morning of her passing, Queenzy was set to film an episode that aligned with this inspiring goal.
Queenzy had started her career at the tender age of 2 and a half and joined M-Girls in 2000, a group alongside Koo, Ong, and Cass Chin.
Her soulful voice resonated with many, especially through her Chinese New Year songs, which exuded joy and tradition.
In July of this year, Queenzy and Chai Zi established Squad Sekawan.
Initially, Queenzy had reservations about her identity as an actress, despite Chai Zi’s conviction that she was destined for the role, as revealed in an interview with Sin Chew Daily.
News of Queenzy’s untimely death was posted on her Instagram page, prompting an outpouring of condolences.
