Singapore is now such a hotspot for concerts events that I won’t be surprised if Kamala Harris decides to come here for a rally with her new running mate.
But apparently, someone who has scheduled a concert here has to cancel it.
Rainie Yang’s Concert in Singapore on 24 Aug Cancelled Due to “Unforeseen Circumstances”
Taiwanese singer Rainie Yang’s “LIKE A STAR World Tour Concert” in Singapore, originally scheduled for 24 August 2024 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, has suddenly been cancelled due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
The concert was part of Yang’s ongoing “LIKE A STAR” themed world tour, which began in 2020.
The concert promoter, BT Mediaspace, announced the cancellation on August 7 via a Facebook post. They apologized for the inconvenience and stated that all tickets will be fully refunded through Sistic within one to two billing cycles.
Although the official announcement did not provide specific reasons for the cancellation, a source told 8world Entertainment & Lifestyle that Yang’s team decided to postpone the concert because they were unable to ship a specially built revolving stage to Singapore on time.
Here’s how it looks like:
@peiling_sdm_oe 🇲🇾不愧是杨丞琳坚持从台湾搬来的舞台😭❤️
This stage, which Yang allegedly insisted on bringing from Taiwan, was featured in her previous tour stop in Kuala Lumpur on 27 July.
Yang, 40, last performed in Singapore five years ago in 2019 for her “Youth Lies Between” world tour. Her return to Singapore for the “LIKE A STAR World Tour Concert” was highly anticipated by fans.
BT Mediaspace mentioned that they will be providing “information regarding new date and venue” shortly, suggesting that the concert may be rescheduled rather than completely cancelled.
