Woman Placed Raw Beef Outside Neighbour’s Doorstep to ‘Scare’ Him

If you believe that someone has wronged you, there are several ways to get back at them these days:

  1. Report them to the police if it was an illegal act
  2. Flame them on social media
  3. Tell everyone they know that they enjoy bubble tea without the pearls, so no one will go near them

One woman, however, had a slightly unusual method for revenge: beef.

Reader: Beef?

Beef.

Woman Placed Raw Beef Outside Neighbour’s Doorstep to ‘Scare’ Him

Believing that her neighbour had molested her in 2019, Farhana Mohamed Suwati hatched a plan to scare him and give him a warning.

All the 31-year-old ended up doing, however, was upsetting the man’s mother.

On an unspecified night in May last year, Farhana approached the 48-year-old man’s unit, where he lived with his 79-year-old mother.

She placed raw beef on the doorstep, shouted “wei”, and left.

The beef wasn’t discovered by its intended recipient, however, as the man’s mother was home at the time, and found the raw meat on her stop.

The elderly woman was distressed and angered by the incident, especially since she did not eat or touch beef.

The victims’ relative lodged a police report saying their neighbour had thrown something at the flat, adding that they had “history before this”.

Then, on 10 Sep, 2020, both victims were at home with their door open when Farhana went to their flat and verbally abused them with expletives.

She then removed five aluminium window panels and three metal rods from the victims’ living room window and threw the window panels inside their flat.

Why the Random Acts of Annoyance?

So, why did the woman commit these seemingly random acts of annoyance? Did the victims and her have some beef?

Well, Farhana provided explanations for both incidents.

For the first incident, which involved raw beef, Farhana said that she thought the woman’s son had molested her in early 2019.

She wanted to scare him and give him a warning, believing he was in the flat at the time.

As for why she dismantled her neighbour’s window and threw objects into their flat, well, her explanation was less acceptable.

The 31-year-old said she committed the offence because she was easily irritated by noises and would “explode” in anger.

So, what sound drove her to the act?

A cough. And the sound of the victims taking out the rubbish.

Fortunately for the victims, the Housing and Development Board paid S$82.73 to repair their window.

As for the woman, she pleaded guilty to a charge each of mischief and using insulting behaviour with intent to cause distress. A third charge will be considered in sentencing.

For mischief, she could be imprisoned for up to two years, fined, or both.

And if convicted of using insulting behaviour to cause distress, she could be jailed up to six months, fined up to S$5,000, or both.

So, what have we learned here? That involving raw beef in a fight is never a good idea.
