How many of you are confident of the health of your gums? Now, take a look at them in the mirror and check to see if a space between your teeth and gums are present.

If yes, then my dear friend, you are suffering from a case of receding gums and I’m here to tell you some natural treatments you can try to eradicate this nasty gum disease.

Green tea
Not only does this elixir of health help to reduce gum inflammation, it also helps to destroy the bacteria in the mouth that can cause periodontal problems. Take a cup of green tea every morning to keep your gums and teeth strong.

Sesame oil
Take a quarter cup of this and swish it around your mouth thoroughly to remove toxic substances and plaque buildup in the gums, which can also cause gums to recede. Warming the oil slightly can also help in better absorption and removal of the bad stuff. It will also give a protective coating to your gums and teeth and prevent gum recession and dental decay.

Aloe vera
You can use the fresh gel from the aloe plant to brush your teeth or as a mouthwash every morning and after meals to protect your teeth and gums from decay and prevent receding of gums since aloe is an anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial agent. It also helps in healing of damaged gums and infections.

Coconut oil
Another wondrous remedy for many afflictions, coconut oil, being antimicrobial in nature, is a great remedy for receding gums and general oral hygiene. Take some and wish your mouth with it after brushing your teeth. This will form a protective layer over your teeth against disease-causing bacteria and germs and also prevent food particles and germs from sticking between and on the teeth and causing decay.

Lemon oil
Lemon has mild antiseptic qualities and stimulates tissue formation to encourage new tissues to grow in place of damaged ones. Although it is an excellent antibacterial agent, it is not recommended to apply pure lemon juice directly to our teeth as it can corrode the enamel. Lemon oil, on the other hand, can easily be made by infusing lemon and olive oil, and can be used to fight gum diseases by swishing it in your mouth first thing in the morning.

Eucalyptus oil
Massage your gums with some a few minutes every day and rinse off to stimulate new tissue growth and also reduce gum recession and damage due to bacteria.

Cloves
Clove oil is a well-known natural antiseptic, antimicrobial and antifungal agent and helps in stimulating the growth and repair of damaged tissues. Cloves, on their own, are very powerful disinfectants and can stop bacterial action with frequent use. Use a clove every day or massage with the oil for best results.

Myrrh
This is a kind of resin that can be obtained from trees and can be used for stopping gum recession and prevention of root exposure and damage, as well as for strengthening the gums. Myrrh can be used for rinsing the mouth or as a tooth powder or paste, whichever is convenient for you.

Tea tree oil
Not just great for skin but also for your gums and teeth, tea tree oil can be diluted and used for swishing the mouth to prevent gum recession and root damage. This oil is a powerful antifungal and microbial agent and destroys the bacteria and plaque buildup in the teeth and between the gums.

Sumac tree
Take a twig off a sumac tree, peel the outer bark and gently rub the inner part of the surface of your teeth and along the gums to stimulate the gums and clean your teeth. This keeps them safe from decay and damage.
