So for those who already know, the band, The Chainsmokers were the people behind the #selfie song. And coincidentally, they are also now famous for the current top hits like Roses, Don’t Let Mw Down, and very recently – Closer.
I’m not sure about you, but when #Selfie first came out, I was more involved with the lyrics in the song than the people who were behind it. Now that I know that the song was by The Chainsmokers, I’m honestly pretty amazed by how far they have come.

Indeed, #selfie was a huge phenomenon back then. The song is essentially about female clubber about taking good selfies, and this song started trending so much that there were pop culture influences modeled all around the song. The jingle “first, let me take a selfie” became a hit all around the world.
So what are The Chainsmokers up to now?
The duo recently released another MV for their latest hit, Closer, which features American singer, Hasley. This MV, though, is a stark contrast from their first video, which features some rather…… raunchy M18 content.
The video was released 14 hours ago and has already garnered around 3 million views.

That aside, the song has become quite a hit. Even our writers in the office are hooked to this song and it’s on repeated every single day. Oh God.
In the United States, “Closer” has become both The Chainsmokers and Halsey’s first number one single on the Billboard Hot 100. The song has also been featured on countless of charts around the world, including Singapore’s.
