These Holes on Your Converse Shoes Actually Have 2 Important Functions

Not sure about you, but being a 90s kid, Converse was a really hot brand among students. Everyone bought their sneakers from Converse and couldnโ€™t wait to wear them to school to show them off.

If you remember, secondary school regulations limited us to low-cut kicks but those were just as cool as the high-top sneakers. Some of our badass friends would even get their pens or markers to draw on their white footwear to customise them. But hereโ€™s the thing, if you have noticed, there are two small holes at the side of your converse shoes.

What do you think theyโ€™re for? Some of us assumed they are probably there as a design but did you know that there is a purpose for the two holes?

The two holes are designed on the shoes for two reasons.

Breathing

Firstly, for those of you who donโ€™t like to wear socks or are not wearing socks for some reason, this is for you! Converse designed their shoes to breathe when their consumers wear their shoes without socks.

This allows your feet to โ€œairโ€ and results in non-stinky feet!

Tightening

Secondly, it is created to tighten your shoes! Most users try to solve their problem of loose shoes by pulling and tightening their shoelaces before tying. However, did you know that Converse actually solved the problem for you?

By untying your shoelaces at the front and leaving the top two holes empty, you can actually tighten your shoes by going sideways and inserting your shoelaces into the holes at the side. This method is called โ€œbar lacingโ€ and allows you to wear your shoes without having your shoes come loose at every step!

Now there are more ways from the different varieties of shoe lace patterns to try! Are you impressed with this trick to help tighten your shoes?
