For car owners, parking the car is more than a routine act.

After all, any momentary lapse in concentration could possibly lead to incidents of the following nature.

Though whether you will end up destroying your own house, is another question altogether.

Woman Stepped on the ‘Wrong’ Pedal & Destroyed Her Rental House; Her 6YO Son and 4YO Daughter were in the House

According to Lianhe Zaobaoone woman’s attempt to park her car ended up horribly wrong when she stepped on the ‘wrong’ pedal and ended up plowing through her own house.

Thankfully, no significant injury was reported.

The incident is said to have occurred at a double-storey, low-cost housing unit over in Johor Bahru, at around 4:55 p.m. on 6 April 2021.

At the time of the incident, the female victim had wanted to park the car, but unexpectedly stepped on the gas by mistake.

The car ended up plowing into the house, and the walls were almost completely destroyed.

After the incident, the female driver rushed into the house to check on her 6-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter. Though her son’s shoulder was scraped in the impact, they were otherwise unharmed.

Ever since she lost her job in Singapore last year, the woman has not driven frequently. In recent times, she had relied on her mobile phone to order the items she needed.

Homeless

Apart from damages to her car, she also faces the prospective notion of being homeless.

Apparently, she had rented the house for around 5 years. The owner has since been notified.

Thankfully, the Director of the Publicity Bureau of Malaysia Johor State, Chen Shanshan, has since intervened and directed the family to a cheaper hotel for accommodation.

Prevalence

Unfortunately, such instances are far from being non-existent.

And unlike the aforementioned scenario, some ended up with the loss of human lives.

In 2019, over in China, a pregnant woman and her sister were about to reach their destination when the dreaded parking segment came.

As her sister did not know how to reverse park properly, she asked for her pregnant sister’s assistance to guide her into the lot.

Her pregnant sister promptly got out of the car and stood behind it, in a bid to issue instructions.

She gave her sister the “go” sign to reverse, but instead of stepping on the brake pedal, the driver stepped on the accelerator pedal.

The car ended up reversing at full speed and hit the pregnant woman with a loud bang, causing her to fall to the ground.

She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
