Neighbours aren’t as nice as they used to be.

If you have a chat with any old person who’s harking back to the good old days, they’d tell you that neighbours used to be much nicer in the past. People used to share food on festive occasions and exchange pleasantries whenever they came across each other.

That’s why the adjective neighbourly means helpful or friendly.

Now, it means to be completely unaware of or indifferent to someone’s existence.

Yes, the kampung spirit seems to have dissipated. Residents nowadays couldn’t care less about the person living next door.

Woodlands Resident Appears to Deliberately Hang Wet & Dripping Laundry Above Neighbour’s Bra

A Woodlands resident in an HDB flat was caught on camera hanging what appears to be a dripping wet bedsheet over his neighbour’s drying laundry.

A video of the incident was uploaded to All Singapore Stuff on Facebook.

In the video, the man is seen placing clips over the top of the bedsheet to keep it in place on the bamboo pole. The bedsheet is so wet that it’s dripping all over his neighbour’s drying laundry, which looks like her bra and panties.

The man seems to be aware that his laundry is dripping over his neighbour’s because he looks down to check if his neighbour’s laundry is getting wet.

He does this twice.

Why would he do such a thing? There are only two explanations I can think of:

1. He derives some sort of pleasure from dampening his neighbour’s underwear

2. He knows that it’s an inconsiderate thing to do and that his neighbour would not like it but he couldn’t give a hamster’s ass

Surprisingly, some netizens came to the man’s defence, claiming it was the badly designed HDB drying racks that were to blame.

But if you look closely you’ll see that there are five other pipe sockets for the man to stick his pole in.

Netizens noticed this too.

So, it seems like he deliberately hung his dripping wet laundry over his neighbour’s. One wonders if a resident can even get punished for such a thing.

Spin Function

While this man deliberately hung wet AF laundry because he liked it, some people out there (like me) have no idea that there’s a setting on your washing machine that can help to dry your clothes.

You may have noticed a “Spin” button on your washing machine. This function helps to extract moisture from your clothes so it doesn’t come out sopping wet.

The higher the ‘RPM’ the drier the clothes are.

This reduces additional drying time in either the tumble dryer or by hanging outside. And, you know, this prevents your neighbour’s undergarments from getting wet.

Every machine works differently, but the Spin button is usually pressed before the Start/Pause button.

The spin-drying typically goes on for five minutes. And if you press the Spin button while the clothes are in the spin cycle, you can change the spin time too.

Also because we’re sick of writing about Covid-19 and would rather write about washing machines.
