People say that getting married is like giving yourself a lifetime sentence, and in some cases, it’s true. Of course, I’m not going to say don’t get married because just as there are many examples of failed marriages, there are also many happy ones out there.Â
For this one restaurant owner in Nanchong, Sichuan, he was so happy to be out of his marriage he decided to throw a huge party. Sort of.
Free Beer for You!

After going through a long and tedious divorce process, the owner was happy to be a single man once again and decide to share his joy with the world.
He put up red banners in front of his shop, telling everyone about his divorce and how happy he is. He had even printed his divorce certificate on the banner to show off to the world.
So happy, in fact, that he decides to give out free beer to his customers and gave 76% discount on everything in his shop.
Not illegal as long as it’s all true
Customers were wary and thought the promotion too good to be true. They wondered if this was a huge publicity stunt to get more customers this Christmas season.Â
The local commercial bureau, when contacted, mentioned that it wasn’t illegal for him to carry out this promotion if the details in the ad are true although they advised others not to put up similar promotions.Â
So that’s what freedom taste like. Lots of beer and cheap food.
