Gone are the days when you had to stock up and cook for yourself during Chinese New Year. This year, you can head out for food or to get away from your family (don’t make it too obvious though; you still need to get those ang paos of yours).
If you’re not sure where to go, we’ve got you covered. Here are 13 restaurants and bars that will be open throughout CNY, ranging from a wide variety of cuisines to satisfy any cravings you may have this CNY.
Chinese Restaurants
1. Jumbo Seafood
Sick of having steamboat every day for CNY meals? Head over to Jumbo Seafood to stuff yourself full with their award-winning chilli crab and sliced abalone.
Located in various locations around Singapore, every outlet has its specific operating hours throughout Chinese New Year.
Operating hours for 12 Feb (初一):
- East Coast Seafood Centre: 5pm to 10.30pm (Dinner)
- Riverside Point: 5pm to 10.30pm (Dinner)
- The Riverwalk: 5pm to 10.30pm (Dinner)
- Dempsey Hill: 5pm to 10.30pm (Dinner)
- ION Orchard*: 5pm to 10.30pm (Dinner)
- Jewel Changi Airport: 5pm to 10.30pm (Dinner)
*Dim Sum and Afternoon Tea will not be available during Chinese New Year.

2. Paradise Dynasty
Remember those rainbow-coloured Xiao Long Bao containing exclusive flavours from Foie Gras to Brown Sugar Lava? Yes, those were from Paradise Dynasty.
You can finally bring your extended family there to debate the ever-important question – should Xiao Long Baos be kept plain?
Business will be as usual at Paradise Dynasty this Chinese New Year.

3. Beauty in The Pot
Are you stressed by your relatives asking too many pesky questions? Why not revitalise yourself with some collagen? Try out Beauty in The Pot’s Beauty Collagen Broth to regain that fresh, dewy look.
Aside from that, you can also toss their exclusive Prosperity Abalone Yu Sheng (silently). Prosperity is sure to abound this CNY!

4. Din Tai Fung
Have home-cooked meals become too healthy for you? If you like living life on the (unhealthy) edge, why not head to Din Tai Fung for some buttery fried rice and regular Xiao Long Bao at an economical price?
Only selected Din Tai Fung outlets are open during this period. For Chinese New Year Eve, only the Marina Bay Sands outlet is opened from 11am to 9pm while the other outlets are opened from 11am to 3pm.

5. Empress
If you do not feel like getting interrogated by your family this Chinese New Year, you can always escape to the Asian Civilisation Museum.
There, you can enjoy traditional Chinese cuisine in a contemporary setting at Empress.
Both the museum and the restaurant are opened throughout Chinese New Year.

6. Kota88 Restaurant
Sometimes we need some culture in our lives. That’s where Kota88 Restaurant comes in.
Kota88 Restaurant offers Chinese food that has been influenced by Indonesian culture.
Their Fortune set menu includes Sate Babi, Sup Asparagus Kepiting, and more.
The restaurant is opened throughout Chinese New Year aside from 12 Feb.

7. Black Angus Steakhouse
Black Angus Steakhouse’s signature USDA Roasted Prime Rib is prepared using a secret recipe, making it juicy and savoury.
They also have a special Chinese New Year platter available on 11 Feb from 6 PM and 12 Feb to 26 Feb from 11 AM to 9 PM.

8. The Black Hole Group (Halal)
The Black Hole Group comprises two restaurants, The Co-op and Éla. The Co-op serves western food from burgers to steaks while Éla serves Greek dishes, grilled meat platters, pita pizza and more.
The Co-op’s Tampines outlet was recently revamped, so you can now enjoy a new and modern atmosphere while dining.
Both the restaurants will be opened throughout Chinese New Year.

11. The Real Peranakan
Feeling spicy? Try Peranakan dishes for a change.
The Real Peranakan offers authentic Peranakan dishes such as Babi PongTay. They even boast special dishes such as the first-ever Peranakan Style Pencai (盆菜)

Their Kim Yam Outlet, however, is closed from 11 Feb to 13 Feb. It will resume operations on 14 Feb.
