Your childhood is a time where the satisfaction and enjoyment of everything seems heightened.
Games seemed more fun, TV shows were better, and most importantly, the food of our childhood was tastier.
This is one of the reasons why old people are legally obliged to start sentences with the phrase “In my day…” at least 70% of the time.
We may not be able to recreate the games and TV shows of our times, but we might just be able to bring back some tasty snacks.
Retro Shop in Yishun Sells Old-School Biscuits
Close the curtains, cuddle with your dog, and make a hot drink because there’s a new retro shop in Yishun selling our favourite old-school biscuits!
The best thing about it is-
Reader: Hang on a second
What?
Reader: The shop is in… Yishun? *gulps*
Yes, but don’t worry. Yishun seems to have rid itself of all its serial killers, cat murderers, and hellish neighbours. At least for now.
Reader: Phew. Ok go on.
Appropriately named “Good Old Days”, the new shop is located at Block 103 in Chong Pang City.
So, what do they have?
Pineapple Jam, Pig Ears, & Love Letters
As you can see, the shop has a wide selection of biscuits to choose from. If you had it your childhood, Good Old Days probably has it in their store.
Remember biting on those pig ear biscuits? Chewing steel seemed easier. Still, once you managed to break them down, the taste was unbeatable.
And what about those colourful wafers? Whether it was chocolate, strawberry, or pandan-flavoured, these wafers were quite addictive.
My personal favourite, however, which might be yours too, is the pineapple jam biscuit, which had just the right amount of sweetness and tartness, making it hard to eat just a few.
If you have a box of these and a delicious hot drink, you might just finish the entire box.
The shop also has our beloved love letters, a host of chocolate biscuits, and some spicy snacks.
Price
And the best thing about it?
Many of their biscuits are selling for just $1.10/100g, which will be good news for those looking to save a buck but bad news for gluttons who can’t control themselves (like me).
But as you can see from the images, some start from $1 per 100g.
So, what are you waiting for? Head down to Chong Pang City and relive the Good Old Days now!
