This goes without saying: stealing is bad.
But does that mean that all thieves are bad and heartless?
Maybe. Maybe not.
Returning Stolen Goods
It’s pretty rare that such things happen.
According to World of Buzz, a rather interesting video was uploaded to The Express Tribune (@etribune) twitter account.

The video shows two thieves in Karachi, Pakistan, biking over to steal from a food delivery driver.
Halfway through the robbery, the victim started crying.
In a twist of events, the robbers actually returned all of the stuff they took from him.
One of them even started consoling him, giving him a small hug and a pat on the shoulder.
The thieves then exchange a few more words with before quickly driving off.
Much like the tweet’s hashtag, the video has gone extremely viral. As of this writing, it has over 693000 views, more than 11200 likes and over 5100 retweets!
I’m almost curious if this was trending when it was first uploaded.

A Country On The Edge
Pakistan as a country has not been doing financially well and COVID-19 certainly hasn’t helped that.
According to sources, Pakistan’s GDP growth rate was estimated to be 3.3% for 2020 and 2.4% for 2021.
This would’ve been the lowest in the decade.
With the pandemic affecting the globe, the real growth rate for 2020 has been projected by the World Bank to go into the negative, between -1.3 per cent and -2.2 per cent.
On top of that, other problems such as corruption run rampant in the country. According to the Corruption Perceptions Index, it ranks 32/100 on the rankings.

By the way, the lower the number, the more corrupt the country is.
This is a rare wholesome story but then again, here’s a reminder: Stealing is bad.
