Imagine your boss telling you not to come in and work from tomorrow onwards, what’s your first reaction?

  1. Ask for the reason and see if you can stay for another month?
  2. Accept the decision and apply for the Covid-19 Support Grant?
  3. Or try to get your former company into trouble because you want a bit of payback?

Unfortunately for a certain pet groomer company in Singapore, one ex-employee decides to go with option 3.

What Happened

According to STOMP, a Facebook user took to private Facebook Group, Singapore Shih Tzu Club, to make some allegations.

The netizen claimed that PawPaw Group, a pet groomer business, had ill-treated the dogs under their care.

It was alleged that a miniature schnauzer had “no access to drinking water”. What’s worse, the poor dog had to “sleep in his own poo and urine”.

The owner of PawPaw Group also allegedly refused to let the dog out of the kennel until after the owner arrived.

The owner was also accused of not cleaning tools after grooming the dogs.

Now, if you’re an avid dog lover and active purveyor of news, you’ll be thinking, is this another Platinum Dogs Club saga?

In fact, if you were even a bit more rash, you might’ve started signing petitions and gathering people to boycott the company.

Except, the allegations are allegedly false.

“No Evidence” Of Wrongdoings

In the same post, the netizen also said she has referred the matter to the Animal Veterinary Service (AVS), who had proceeded to raid the place.

As a spokesperson for AVS said, they take all feedback from the public seriously and will look into every report.

When AVS received the report, they sent officers down to inspect the premises on the same day.

The AVS officers did not manage to find any evidence of mistreatment and “assessed the place to be clean and well-maintained”.

In other words, it’s likely a false report.

Then you’re wondering, why did the netizen do that?

Netizen Allegedly An Ex-Employee

According to PawPaw Group’s statement released on their Facebook Page on 31 July, the netizen is allegedly an ex-employee of theirs and she is trying to slander the shop’s reputation.

She was employed as an assistant groomer since June 2020.

However, the ex-staff allegedly has difficulties controlling her emotions and has anger management issues.

Prior to them letting her go, she had got into conflict with a pet groomer and became “physical” with the dogs when they wouldn’t stop barking.

The company said that they’ll get their legal associate to “seek clarification on her posting and her intention to make false allegations against the shop” and hopes that things will be resolved “amicably”.

As for what’s real and what’s false? Nobody knows. But hey, at least no dogs were found to have been mistreated in Singapore.

One Platinium Dogs Club saga is more than enough for one lifetime, agree?
