Faith in humanity restored!
Singapore’s Minister for Defence, Dr Ng Eng Hen, recently made a Facebook post commending a group of RSAF soldiers who helped an elderly lady on Oct 8.
The elderly woman was unable to get up on the lift due to a breakdown with, and had problems getting to the restaurant at Toa Payoh with her daughter-in-law, Mdm Low.
Thankfully, the group of RSAF soldiers from Sembawang Air Base came to their aid and carried the elderly woman up the flight of stairs to reach the restaurant. They even told the two women to call them when they were done with their meal, and they would return to carry the elderly person down the stairs.
Mdm Low also added that such a civic-minded act of kindness should be applauded.
The fact that they had the initiative to help the elderly woman in need is definitely something all Singaporeans should learn from – to be more proactive when it comes to helping people in public.
What would you have done if it was you?
