Samsung Will Start Selling Their Refurbished Galaxy Note 7. Yes, That Galaxy Note 7

Do you remember the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and the troubles it caused to the world largest smartphone maker? I’m sure you do.

News on it was pretty explosive #NotPunny

But guess what?

Samsung to start selling refurbished Note 7

On 27 June 2017, it was reported on Channel News Asia that Samsung will start selling refurbished Note 7 smartphones next week.

Wait, what?

Yes, you heard that right. The same explosive phones which fueled plenty of memes as well as become part of a game are going to be on the shelves again.

This particular model landed Samsung into hot water and caused the world’s largest smartphone maker billions of dollars in revenue.

But due to Samsung’s damage control, their credibility didn’t take a huge hit and their Galaxy S8 was a huge success. They posted the biggest quarterly net profit out of three years in April this year as well.

Unlike most companies, Samsung, instead of trying to forget and move on, decided to face their mistake head on by trying to sell the Galaxy Note 7 again.

The Galaxy Note Fandom Edition

Called the Galaxy Note Fandom Edition, maybe ‘coz only die-hard fans of Samsung are brave enough to buy one for themselves? #ISeeWhatYouDidThere

The smartphones will be refurbished with new batteries,  and hopefully, ones that have lower capacity.

It will also come with a software update that (presumably) have more safety cautions in place.

Now, I have both good news and bad news for you

If you’re looking to get yourself a Galaxy Note Fandom Edition (you brave soul, you), here’s a good news and bad news for you.

The good news is, the Galaxy Note Fandom Edition will be sold at a cheaper price. It’s reported that the unit will be priced below SGD$854, about SGD$300 drop from its original retail price of SGD$1168.

The bad news is you might not even see it in Singapore.

The smartphones will go on sale first in Korea, and it’s unclear if other countries will be able to get their hands on it.

Also unclear is if the various airlines’ ban on Galaxy Note 7 will be lifted for these devices.

So, would you get one for yourself if given the chance? I’ll stick to my Oppo, thanks.
