Do you like horror movies?
Personally, I don’t. The movies are fine, but I don’t like how they make me really paranoid afterwards. Suddenly, every sound you hear sounds like your impending doom arriving. Every movement at the corner of your eye looks like a possible ghost stalking you.
One common culprit for triggering paranoia is laundry. Sometimes a long white shirt hanging by the window resembles a pontianak staring at you.
But this next one takes it to a whole new level.
Hanging Ghost?
A Thai man from Chang Mai (who currently lives in Hong Kong according to his Facebook profile) captured these images and posted it on his Facebook.
Here is the image in question.
It doesn’t matter if you’re fresh off a horror movie and your paranoia is at an all-time high, or you just got done watching the funniest comedy movie ever and nothing seems to scare you.
This would seriously freak out anyone.
At first glance (and probably the next 20 glances), this legitimately appears to be a ghost hanging from the ceiling. Maybe a vengeful spirit that was killed by hanging?
Nope. It’s just laundry.
Our dear Mr Pumnikom (The man who posted the photos) also included another photo where he explained how the laundry formed the image we perceived.
Very clever, Mr Pumnikom. And brave, for staring at it so long to decipher it. I would have run back home and cowered in my bed after a single glance.
Other “Creepy” Photos On The Internet
This is far from the first time a creepy photo on the Internet wasn’t what it seemed. One of our past posts here debunked a famous creepy photo that circulated the Internet.
Now, as creepy as this head-twisted lady seems, it turned out to be nothing more than a hoax created by Photoshop.
Here’s the original photo.
This is far from the only one, of course, here’s an article of a list of “creepy photos” which were almost all victims of Photoshop.
Of course, that didn’t stop people on the Internet from writing up and spreading Creepypastas based on such photos.
Word of the Day (in case you didn’t know) – A “Creepypasta” is a horror legend or urban myth written usually with an accompanying image.
For example, most, if not all the photos in the article linked above have Creepypastas written based on them.
Honestly, it’s probably on a matter of time before someone takes the photo posted by Mr. Puminkom above out of context and makes up a horror story about it.
As for the person who hung the laundry, you either have crazy talent, or it could be a pretty ominous sign. I certainly hope it’s the former.
